Preschool!

So Maddy started preschool last Friday! She is in school MWF. She had a great first day. There weren't any tears at all. From her or me! I was very proud of myself. She kept asking, "I'll have a lot of fun, right?" She was very happy to see me at pickup but had a great time. I was a bit worried about Monday. Since the newness would have worn off. But nope! She went in without issue. In fact, I had to call her back to get my kiss! She really seemed to like it and was pretty excited to come out and tell me she painted another picture.

She's been TIRED after school. Add in she also got a cold this weekend she's been even more tired in the afternoon. (Thus a little crabby, too.)

Adrian is doing well. He's almost 6 months old! He enjoys trying to sit up (and then falling over) and loves noises. He's such a little screecher! He loves to screech! Maddy hates it since he is so loud and she really doesn't love loud noises.

We're going on Thursday to get his six month pictures done and probably a few of both kids together, too.

Well, that's about it for new things here! I'm enjoying reading-- a bit too much. I get so addicted to books that the house goes to heck around me while I read and read. Oh well. It'll all get done sooner or later. :)

Reading

So my little neighborhood mom's group has formed a book club. I used to love to read. I read ALL the time as a kid/teen. Then college came around and there was so much required reading that fun reading fell by the wayside. And with work I had a lot of other reading that needed to happen.... so I just kind of stopped. Then, with the start of this book club I really decided that I missed it. So I joined.

What I forgot... is that I get obsessed!! :-) I LOVE to read. I can read every second of every day. Of course, that's highly unlikely with two kids, a house to care for and a husband. That said, it hasn't stopped me lately and the house/lack of dinner shows for it.

Anyway, it's been fun. I'm on a new series. I'm trying to save them to Atlanta, but I'm having a hard time putting them down! So we'll see how well I do. :)

Fall Festival

So this morning we all went over to Cox Farm and went to the Fall Festival. Once admission is paid there are so many things to do there for free. Plus, since Matt and I are both members of Cox Farm's newsletter we got two free admission tickets each for the festival which means we got in free!! :-) Can't complain about getting in free! ($45 savings.)

Maddy LOVES slides. And she loves swinging from ropes and jumping off. You know, the soft pretzels and lemonade aren't bad either. :-) Yep, she had a great time! Now both kids are down for nap and I'm going to start typing up some sub plans! Time to get a move on!

Atlanta

So Matt had some work in Atlanta. It's a yearly meeting that he has to attend. Well, it's either I stay home and take care of the kids all week by myself or dare I go along? So we asked Matt's parents if they wouldn't mind taking care of the kids so I could go. They jumped at the chance. Heaven help me, I am SO lucky to have two people so willing to watch my kids. So we made airfare reservations (pretty cheap)! And we're here! It's been a really great trip. I met up with some old friends from a makeup message board I've been on for ages and it was great to finally meet them. Matt and I went out for some nice dinners, had some great bottles of wine. We're staying at a great place and it feels really nice to have people catering to me instead of me catering to the kids (not that I quite cater, but you know what I mean--more like take care of). Sleeping in, not getting up at night, doing whatever I want. It's been fabulous!

So tomorrow we go home. I'm excited to see my kiddos although I'm excited to get the chance to sleep in again tomorrow. We called them tonight and Maddy talked to Daddy for a few seconds and then asked to talk to me and told me she missed me. We talked for a bit more and then hung up. I think Matt was a bit jealous (he said as much) that Maddy told me she missed me and not him. I know she misses him too, but she's normally quite a daddy's girl.

Anyway, that's about it! I had a great massage tonight. It was soooo nice. I wasn't going to get one, but I did anyway. It was quite nice and quite a special treat. This whole time has been a great treat. :)

Ok, off to paint my nails, I think? Or read? Or... I dunno! :)
