Busy, busy!

We've been really busy around here! I really can't tell you with what, though. I mean, of course, keeping up the house (but even then, I have other people who clean my house) and the two kiddos keep me hopping. Blogging takes a bit of concentration (but not much, reviewing my blog since they are all over the place) and I just haven't had more than a minute or so at a time to really sit down and think lately. And when I am I'd rather sit and do nothing! After Maddy goes to bed at 7-8 has been more difficult lately as that's when Adrian has decided to become a night owl. The same happens at 4 in the morning but he seems to fight that one a little bit better. So before bed, which originally was about the only time to myself/ourselves, now hasn't been for the last few days. So I take it where I can get it! For instance, Maddy is in our bedroom (where she still naps) talking to herself right now. She knows she can't get up until 3 so she's waiting patiently. Meanwhile, Adrian just went down for nap 10 minutes ago, so I'll get about 1/2 hour given Adrian doesn't get up again for a bit.

The cleaning crew is turning out great. I love that if I leave all the clean sheets on top of the bed they will remake the bed for me. Add in that I left a basket of clean clothes in our bedroom yesterday and they folded it all for me! WOW. That was really nice! I just love having a clean house all in one day. I do hate dishing out the cash for it, but right now, it's well worth it!

I went out by myself for a while last night. I did some necessity shopping and then had some sushi at Wegmans. I was still home for Maddy's bedtime, but it was great to get out for a bit. I even got stuck in traffic and didn't care since I didn't have kids in the car and some good music to listen to.

This morning the kids and I went to the post office and then to the park. I brought along a towel to wipe down the slides. It wasn't rainy but it was very wet out today and it's been raining for days. But Maddy just HAD to get out of the house!!!

I've been into tea again lately. I've been making pots of it during the day and putting it on the tea warmer. It's fun to drink out of a nice tea pot and nice tea cups. Makes me feel like a little bit more of an adult during the day... considering I normally can't even pee in peace! HA!

Well, I have ten minutes! Speaking of, I should pee while I can without two kids in tow! Maybe TMI, but such is the life of a mom! 'Til later or the next time I have a few minutes to think!

Blogging! Hello! Here I am!

Wow, so it's been forever. Huh? Mr. Adrian always seems to know when I'm about to blog so I almost get started and he needs something. No big deal, but not conducive to blogging!

My mother's day weekend was really nice. We didn't do much but that was perfect. Matt made Chocolate cherry cheese crepes for breakfast. We ordered in pizza, onion rings, cheese fries and gyros for dinner--dinner of champions and weight watchers. Oh well! Matt bought a necklace for me and I also bought at new teapot that matches my others and my tea cups. They will come tomorrow! My MIL and FIL bought new tea for me which I am very excited about. It should be here on Wednesday. Wh wouldn't want Coconut Rum Tea??? YUM!

Adrian went 7 hours between feedings last night! I was so excited for it. Here's hoping it's not just a fluke and continues forward! We'll see! It was great getting some straight sleep!

This week is busy. We have three doctor's appointments. I'm going out to see a friend on Thursday night, so that will be nice. Other than that, there's not too much going on. I am thinking about scheduling my spa day soon that I have a gift certificate for. I am very excited!

Adrian is up! Have a good one, everyone!

Tidbits

So yesterday night we all took a walk around the neighborhood as a family. It was so nice to get out and about on a beautiful evening with both kiddos in the double stroller. We walked by a walking path and found a park that we didn't know about! It didn't have play equipment but a lake and grills/picnic tables. I guess I'm definitely a city gal, because I was NOT ready for the noise!! It is a frog pond. It is SOOOOOO LOUD. I mean, I had to actually raise my voice so Matt could hear me. It was a great walk though and both kiddos liked it.

Adrian is going back to sleep pretty well now after feedings at night. He's been staying awake more during the day except yesterday when he took a FOUR hour nap! It was pretty nice!

I received my new tea pot in the mail yesterday! I only bought it because I was already buying tea pot lids off the same site. Two of my lids now broke (one dropped while unloading the dishwasher and one broke when a ball hit it off the counter). So I needed a new one anyway. They were $4 each so I bought three! One extra (it fits both my tea pots). While I was there I saw they had a new tea pot that looked awesome. Since it was almost mother's day, I thought, why not? It's really pretty and it's fun to use.

Maddy has really been a great helper with Adrian! She helped me put the pacifier back in yesterday and also sang him a lullaby when he was crying. She moved the canopy of his seat to block the sun from his eyes and in general, has been a great helper!

Ok, off to change cat litter and clean the basement. Have a good one everyone! Them more tea!

Tea, tea, tea and other things!

So I have been into tea lately! After Adrian was born, I needed more 'kick' than that so I had coffee almost every morning. But on a rainy day a few weeks ago I brought out one of my good tea pots and warmer and made a pot of tea. I've been doing it ever since! It's actually so much faster than microwave. Since it's constantly hot. Plus, it leaves a wonderful aroma in the kitchen and the glow of the candle lighting up the tea and tea pot is really beautiful to look at. Plus it's just fun to use one of my good tea sets. And this set can be microwaved and is safe for the dishwasher! Even better!

So I found some great teas I've wanted to try but it was online and shipping was attrocious. So I went looking for it at the places I know that carry it. Nope, none of them had the seasonal stuff out yet. Well, Matt told his parents who wound up buying it for me for Mother's Day. It was so much fun to open yesterday and I've already had three different cups of tea today! Delicious!

I am looking forward to this evening. I am getting together with a friend I haven't seen in quite a while. So it will be fun to hang out and talk. I also have a doctor's appointment today that Matt is coming home to watch the kids for. And I have one tomorrow morning, too. So that's two separate car rides that I get to blast the music and dance in the car to. I take it where I can get it! ;)

Ok, off to do a few chores! Have a good one!

WOW! What a weekend!

So it was a great weekend here! It was really busy but had some really fun stuff. Friday night was uneventful. I was exhausted so I went to bed pretty early. I chatted with a dad from my mom's group who wanted to invite Matt to a gathering on Saturday for the dad's and kids from my mom's group. I accepted for him and figured out what I was going to send with him to the party. The moms were at a weekend away that I decided to opt out of. Matt pushed me to go, but I didn't want to really leave him with the two kids when Adrian isn't sleeping through the night. Anyway, we were all invited which was really sweet of them (all being grandma and grandpa who came for the weekend). But I was going to send just Matt but he chose to take Maddy as well. Maddy had a blast at the craft table. She just started cutting with safety scissors and was obsessed with them at the party. There was glue, too! She was thrilled.

That morning was a bit crazy. I got Matt and Maddy ready to go out for Maddy's 6 mo. dentist appointment and she did really well which I fully expected. The dentist said everything looks good except she should really stop sucking her thumb. She keeps saying, "The doctor said no, mommy." Poor baby. I think it was the worst thing she could have heard! It took her forever to go to sleep during nap since she was trying not to suck her thumb. I told her to do whatever she needed to do. After all, if need be, there are always braces later.

Then grandma and I got ready and quickly went to a fabric store to look at fabric to cover the dining room chairs and make valences for the windows. Couldn't find what I wanted though. Then we ran to the grocery store for Matt's party stuff.

Matt and Maddy went to the hair cuttery to get their hair cut. Maddy only got about a 1/2 inch off the bottom since she needed a trim. It looks good!

I was late to my spa thing by 15 min!! OOPS. That's what I get for trying to squeeze in too much at once. So I had my facial and pedicure/manicure (purple on toes and silverish sheer with some purple on fingers). It's a nice place. It's not Hershey, but nice! I loved the pedicure chair because it had rollers in the back, was heated and also vibrated if I wanted it to. They had stuff to drink, too. I had a nice cup of tea. I will be going back in a little over a week to get my massage.

After that I came home and hung out with Maddy while she napped. Then Matt and Maddy went to their party and they had a good time. After they got home and we put Maddy down for bed Matt and I went out for dinner. We tried a newer restaurant. It was nice! I also had two margaritas so I can't complain!

It should be noted that Matt and I both slept in both mornings!!! Grandma sent us back to bed while she and grandpa took the kids! It was sooo nice! We didn't even get out of bed until 10 on Sunday! OH NICE!

Once we were all ready to go, Matt, Grandpa and Maddy went to Sears to pick up a new filter for our fridge. Then they were going to stop at Costco but aborted that idea because of how crazy it was.

I took a nap with Maddy which was heavenly. It was soooo nice. Then we all got ready and went out for dinner at the place Matt and I went to the night before. Then we popped over to Joanne Fabric but they already closed by 2 minutes. Oops. Then we went over to Target. I picked up some more 3-6 sleep and plays for Maddy, a PJ for Maddy. Other misc. stuff (a few fun nailpolishes for pedicures for me!). We came home and the grandparents left.

Now we're just kind of hanging out enjoying a glass of wine. Tomorrow night I have Mom's night out. We're going out for Italian and on Tuesday I have Bunco. Oh and the cleaning ladies are here tomorrow!

Ok, just wanted to check in. Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Adrian's 2 month visit!

So Adrian had his two month visit today with the doctor! He did really well. He only cried during the shot, but that was it. He is a big boy!! He's 24.5 inches long and that puts him in the 97th percentile for his age. And he is 13 lbs. exactly and that puts him at the 93rd percentile for weight! His head circumference is in the 90th percentile as well. So he's just a biggun!! But he's proportional so that's what matters to me. :-)

They say that I need to help him strengthen the right side of his neck since he likes to lay with his head facing to the left. So we'll work on that one.

Maddy was decent at the doctor's visit. Although she kept trying to whisper to me while the doctor was talking to me as if not to interrupt. We're working on that!

We go in next month for some more shots. We are spacing them out some and I'm glad for that. They are very open to it.

He's been a snuggle puss and most likely will be all day. Not fussy though, yet, so I'm glad for that.

tea of the day: pina colada black tea and then mojito mint green tea

Growth spurts!

Well, I'm pretty sure Maddy and Adrian are both in growth spurts! Maddy has been eating like a normal kid, which has been pretty nice. I haven't had to fight her over the last couple of days to eat food. While I should try to be hopeful that the fussy eating phase is over, I don't think it is. But I'll take it while I have it!

Adrian has been up at night to feed again, every three hours. It's been kinda hard after getting used to him sleeping from 9-3/4. But we'll make it through. Normally at night he doesn't eat all of his bottle but the last couple of nights he's been ferocious and downing the whole thing!

Ok, well, I had a bored 3 year old who wants to play computer games with mommy even though it's not even 7:30 in the morning. Fortunately, Adrian fell back asleep for a bit.

5:55 came awfully early this morning!!!

Memorial Day and Mommy & Me morning out

So we had a very nice weekend here! Saturday was basically chore day and trying to catch up on some stuff around here. A lot of little thing needed to get done. So it did. On Sunday I packed a picnic lunch and we went to our local farm that is run by the county. It's a working farm and a lot of fun to explore. Then we went to one of our local parks and enjoyed playing there. We ate our picnic lunch at a covered picnic area. It was a great time. That evening Maddy and Matt went to a Memorial Day cook out and had a nice time, too. Sunday Maddy spent part of the afternoon playing in her new sandbox (that I got for $5 at a rummage sale). She LOVES it.

Then Matt used a flex day today and Maddy and I went to do some fun stuff. First we went shopping and then to a Pottery Place to paint pottery. Matt bought a gift certificate for me for the pottery wheel and I still had some $$ left so we used some more of it. Maddy chose a kitty mug and we painted that. Then we went to her favorite restaurant for a Chinese food lunch. She LOVES that place! Now she's down for a good long nap.

Maddy and I really don't have any plans for this week. I will need to try to plan something with our little playgroup. It's been rainy all day today so it was a perfect day to paint pottery.

I have a few plans for today though! Tonight I have a massage that will finish up my gift card. Then on Thursday I will most likely have Mom's Night Out given Matt doesn't need to work late. I'm excited for both. All I gotta say is that I'm passing out after my massage. :)

Have a good one!

Ok, it's a start.

So I uploaded a couple of pictures to both Adrian and Maddy's galleries. I need to play catch up now for the last 2.5 months. Fortunately, once I get going on it, it shouldn't be that bad. But anyway, just a few new ones for you! Go check! :) http://www.teaholic.com/gallery
