So this weekend was busy and good! Yesterday was rather hell on wheels. Adrian was fussy and Maddy was squirmy and very needy for attention, plus she wasn't following directions very well. I was quite happy to have both kids asleep for a while! Maddy went to bed at 7!!! That's about 1/2 or an hour early for her. But she really needed it and fell right to sleep. However, today was much more calm. Adrian was much less fussy and Maddy seemed a lot more even keel.
Matt built a 'foundation'/cover for the culvert we have in the back of our house. It is basically a mini deck and then he covered it with green AstroTurf. It has steel feet on it and it's really neat! Then he put Maddy's playhouse on top if it and it's really cool! And it didn't take that long either!
We also put Maddy's mattress and boxspring on the frame and headboard/footboard yesterday. Then we went out and bought the bedskirt and step stool for it. It's really tall now, but Maddy has the guard rail so she won't fall out. She is so proud to have a taller bed and just loves it.
Today I made turkey chili in the crockpot. I froze all but one serving. I was glad to get a few extra meals into the freezer!! I also did a load of laundry and all the usual house stuff. Then at 2 I went out for afternoon tea with the ladies from the neighborhood. It was soooo much fun! There's nothing like sitting down to a good cup of tea--especially one I can focus on! :) The food was excellent as well--as was the company! What a great time!
Now onto this week--the same great group of women are making dinners for me this week so I don't need to. They realized the grandparents were here for a few weeks so they didn't want to bring over food then. I will really appreciate it this week!
I have my six week doctor appointment this week. Yes, six weeks already! I can't believe it! I also have a playgroup this week, too. So that's great! But I am hoping to go out more with the kiddos, even if it's just to play outside although it should be hot.
It's been really hot here--upper 90s and humid! Yikes! Where did spring go?
