I was going to title this, Coming back from the dead. But well, considering tomorrow is Easter I'll save that for Jesus, huh? Anyway, my title works well for not only my blog but also for Adrian! Who would have known that the day after my maintenance notice I'd be in the hospital!? Of course, that didn't help Matt to have a BABY to take care of and not quite being able to get to our blog or gallery to get it fixed. So here I am a little less than a month later.
Yes, Adrian Allen Jackson was welcomed into this world on March 17th at 10:27 at night! He weighed in at 7 lb. 12 oz. and was 20.5 inches long. He has a full head of dark brown hair the same as his sister's. :)
It was funny. That morning my OB called and told me I'd need to reschedule my c-section from the 30th to the 31st because she was going to be out of town. Let's face it, I wasn't real thrilled. Dammit, I had this all planned out!!! I had the 30th all set to go and everything was ready. Turns out Adrian had other plans!
During Maddy's nap my water broke. Oh MY! First thing I did was pick up the phone and call Matt. Fortunately, he did answer his cell. And that's when everything went into the works! I had packed the bags about a week before so that was good. I was at 37 weeks and 2 days so that was good, too! At least I was full term!
The labor and delivery went well. It was another c-section. There was a lot of waiting around this time around though. They weren't sure I was actually in labor or that my water broke. But after it was confirmed that I really was in labor everything went into the works.
I have a one week catch up blog that I will post after this one that tells more about the actual delivery so stay tuned for that!
The last month has gone well. It's shocking to me that Adrian is already almost a month old. Less than one more week and he'll be one month!! YIKES! He's doing fairly well. He doesn't sleep as well as he did when he was first born. But he sleeps in stretches. Sometimes he is awake a lot though. He really enjoys his sister and is drawn to her voice. Maddy is SO GOOD with him. I'm so impressed. She's been doing really well with me as well. He eats every two to three hours at night and has had about 2-3 stretching of 4 hours in between feedings.
We had a lot of help the last few weeks and it's been really nice. Grandma and Grandpa Jackson dropped everything and came for two weeks to help us. My parents came down for a week after that and they left on Thursday. So this upcoming week is my first week all on my own! Hopefully things will go well. We have a playgroup Thursday morning and that's the extent of our plans for next week minus maybe a grocery store trip. (If I'm adventurous or desperate enough.)
Ok, well, it's 10:00! I still want to upload some photos to our gallery but it will most likely happen tomorrow.
