Just a quick check in. I'm on my way to a shower. Matt and Maddy are making chocolate chip pancakes. :)
All is well here! On Wednesday Maddy, Adrian and I went to the post office and also to one of our many local parks. We simply needed to get out of the house!! Maddy had a really nice time playing. Thursday was a really nice morning. We had playgroup at our house and Maddy was so excited to see her friends. It has been a while--a full month, since our last playgroup! Maddy had such a blast and I think her friends had fun, too. Adrian slept through most of playgroup which allowed for me to have a free hand. Thursday afternoon we went outside to play like we really try to do while the weather isn't too hot. Friday morning Adrian was pretty fussy so I got us all ready to go and headed out for a walk/bike ride. Well, the bike ride part lasted half a block. So we walked back home and dropped off the bike and went for a walk instead. Of course, we stopped at our local park on the way home. Maddy helped Daddy mow the lawn last night and Maddy always has a great time being outside with him helping pick up sticks, moving downspout stuff for him.
Adrian went 4.5 hours between feedings yesterday! 9-2:30 am! Now, he was up at 2:30, 4:30 and then 6, but at least we had that one stretch. It makes me hopeful. We'll see! He's been getting a bit more 'demanding' lately and will cry more readily when he is crabby or simply unhappy. I guess he isn't willing to be as patient as he used to be. Of course he wants to be held as much as possible which isn't always an option so I've used the new sling some (thanks Grandma for making it for me) and the swing (although he tires of that pretty quick) and well, sometimes he just has to wait.
This morning at 12:30 I woke from a dream to feel movement on the end of my bed. I thought maybe Joe was in here, but I couldn't figure out how since we close the door behind us at night now. Then I felt hair and being 3/4 still asleep I freaked for a split second and thought we had left Adrian on our bed after a diaper change and went back to sleep! (Now, he was never even changed on our bed last night since he slept from 9-2:30 anyway--so that wasn't even a possiblity.) Then I realized it was Maddy! She must have snuck quietly into the bedroom and neither of us noticed her so she decided she was going to sleep with us, went back to her room, grabbed her blanket, dragged it back in and was in the process of laying down at our feet when I felt the movement and woke up! I was pretty impressed she can be that quiet though. And she didn't fuss when I led her back to her bedroom and put her back to bed.
This weekend will be pretty uneventful. I have a girls' afternoon out though tomorrow. We're going out for tea! It should be pretty nice. Matt has a few house things he wants to get done around here but I'm hoping to get out and enjoy the nice weather as a family this weekend--maybe a picnic or something like that! It's supposed to be beautiful this whole week with highs in the upper 80's.
Ok, off for that shower! Have a great week!
