A few small things

Good news (at least for me) my spam guard is working on my gallery. I need to register people who want to make comments and I had one come in last night that I didn't recognize I deleted it. At least I don't need to go through and delete 45 spam comments!

Yesterday was a nice day--we did nothing most of the day! Just hung out. I think the most ambitious I got was running the dishwasher. We did a lot of playing and snuggling. It was very nice! Joe Joe has been a snuggle bug lately, constantly trying to lay on us to get snuggles. He even came to lay on me as Maddy and I snuggled. Of course, Maddy LOVED it. She loves Joe and loves to pet him.

Ok, off to make breakfast for the kiddo and myself. Matt's day to sleep in is today so I probably won't see him until about 8:30-9.

Tea of the day: Gypsy Coconut Chai

Go Steelers! Go Cardinals!

Well, we are off to a Super Bowl Party this afternoon! I decided to go 'all out' and make chocolate covered pretzels for it. HA! I had no idea what the Cardinal's colors were so I had to look it up. (Besides red, obviously.) I have enough Pittsburgh friends to know what their colors were. :-)

Last minute, we decided to call the neighbor girl to see if she'd want to watch Maddy for a bit tonight. She had no plans so she'll watch her! It'll be nice to hang out with adults a bit and just relax. I'll still be home for the bedtime routine though!

I'll be making a taco dip when we get up but other than that, not a whole lot going on today! Have a good one, everyone!

Moving right along....

So I had my OB appointment with my new doctors' practice yesterday. It went fine. In fact, we are 'this close' to being scheduled for my C-section! The doctors and I are in agreement on the date though, so it's all about timing now and making sure Adrian doesn't want to come early. I'm measuring big! I'm at 31 weeks and am measuring at 33-34 weeks. They may want to do a sonogram to see how he is and how big he is, more importantly.

We had class yesterday that we canceled. The teacher is ALWAYS late. Last week I complained to the manager and the teacher did do a bit better yesterday but still started very late (15 minutes late for a 45 minute class!). I told her that we were leaving and why. You could tell that she was visibly upset/hurt. I tried to reassure her that her lesson plans were good and she was a good teacher (eh, she's just ok) but I don't pay to sit and read books for 15-30 minutes and then get 15 minutes of teacher-led time. I was pretty annoyed. The manager was good about it and we are being reimbursed for the last 6 classes that we are not attending.

Today was pretty uneventful and Maddy was glad for it. We were gone from 10-2:30 yesterday and she was DONE when we got home. She went straight for nap without issue. Poor kiddo. I did get some cleaning, laundry, bills, paperwork, cleaning the shower stall, etc. done today so it wasn't a total loss.

Maddy has been such a snuggle bug lately. I don't know if she realizes the baby is coming or what, but she's wanted a ton of mommy snuggles lately. We've been reading a lot of books and snuggling. She's been really cute and sweet about it. It's been nice for me, too.

Ok, well, off to bed. I could use the extra sleep.

This, that and the other thing

Not really a whole lot to say but it's been a few days since I've checked in. I must say that Facebook is really not good for my blogging habits. Really. I also have to say that I'm basically addicted to facebook in every way shape and form. It's just too much fun and unfortunately, quite a time suck!

Yesterday we had playgroup with Nate, Hailey and Annabelle at Hailey's house! Maddy really enjoyed her time. We had to leave a bit early to stop at the bank to deposit a couple checks and also the pharmacy for my iron supplement prescription. Unfortunately, the latter was not ready for pick-up! Maddy and I enjoyed coloring and reading books that night. Although, she still has very little interest in actual coloring or drawing. In fact, she's pretty adverse to it! Oh well, she'll like it when she does.

*Knocking on wood* I've been sleeping really well over the last week or so. I don't know why, but I'm not going to complain! Then this morning Maddy didn't get up until 7:45 so I basically had straight sleep from 10-7:45 this morning with only a few wakeups!

Of course waking up late has it's repercussions though. Maddy and I were in quite a rush to make it to class on time this morning! We did make it and she had a great time at ballet class like always! And I'm thrilled she's taking a nap for me, too! I wasn't sure that was going to happen.

Tonight Matt's parents come for a visit! It's been quite a while! It'll be really nice to see them. I think tomorrow we will work some more on getting Adrian's room ready some more and find a dresser for him. We may also get a new storage unit for his room or give him Maddy's (that is falling apart so it would need some work). But we're moving right along there. I also filled out the hospital paperwork for Adrian's birth as well! That's done!

Tea of the day: Constant Comment.

Adrian's room!

With some hard work (thanks to Matt), some diligence (thanks to me), some thoughtfulness (thanks to Tara for the glider) some luck (thanks to Craigslist) and some help (thanks to G-ma/G-pa for watching Maddy) Adrian's room is basically finished!! Click on the photo above to see it!

Valentine's Day Playgroup

So we had Valentine's day playgroup today. Well, I guess. If you call homemade valentine's day cupcakes (white cake with red chips, pink frosting with heart sprinkles) good enough to make a valentine's day party. :-) Maddy and I dressed the part though. I wore one of my favorite red shirts and my XO earrings. Maddy wore her valentine's day tshirt/pants and pink bows.

Maddy had a blast. She really enjoys playgroup now and it's so much fun seeing her interact with other kids, especially playing. It's so cute. I uploaded a video and picture so go check it out if you want to!

Of course, it's always nice to have playgroup since it forces me to clean. It feels really good to have a clean house! Pretty soon I need to sort through some of Maddy's toys again.

Tomorrow we have ballet class! Maddy will have a blast. That's about it here. I hope everyone has a great weekend--whether it's a long one or not.

Tea of the day: Peach Tea

Four day weekend catch up.

So Matt had a four day weekend this weekend. It was really nice to just hang out as a family most of the time. V-day was very uneventful and relaxing. Matt made cherry cheese crepes for me for breakfast and we opened valentine's day cards. It was great to hang out. Sunday Matt worked in the garage and built another shelf. Our garage is really starting to look great now! Once we get some more boxes out of there we'll be able to get both cars in. At least that's my hope!! Monday I went out for lunch with an old friend from a message board I've frequented for the last 10 years and we have FINALLY gotten together. It was such a blast! We even did coffee afterwards. Then I did some Target shopping by myself and of course, the grocery store, too. Tuesday Matt worked on the garage again, but overall it was a pretty uneventful day. I had bunco last night and that was a lot of fun.

Today I had my 33 week appointment. All looks good. I'm still measuring big so they want me to come in for a sonogram next week to see how big the baby is. My sonogram is officially scheduled for March 30th now. So unless we find a reason to push it up via sonogram next week and I don't go into natural labor, I will be having Adrian on the 30th!

Adventures in church going

A few little funnies from yesterday.

On the way to church yesterday during our 45 minute drive we played I Spy in the car with Maddy. She loves that game. While sitting quietly in church, Maddy leans over and says, "Hey mommy?" I whispered, "Yes sweetie?" She says, "I spy, with my little eye something blue..." I had to remind her that we are in church to listen to Pastor and not play I spy. It was cute though.

Then later on, right after prayer Maddy says outloud (not yelling, but not whispering), "Are we done yet?" hehee... nope, sorry sweetie.

Later a little boy was having a bit of a temper tantrum towards the back of church and Maddy got up on her knees facing backwards, pointed and said pretty loud, "Mommy, he's not being very quiet or very good! Is his mommy going to take him to the bathroom????" (And no, I really DON'T know where Maddy got that from.) I heard a lot of snickering...

And one last little thing--I allowed Maddy to have a 1/2 stick of trident during church at which point I reminded her that she had to chew it with her mouth closed (since this is still hard for her to do) and she did really well. Except for when she took it out of her mouth and exclaimed "ALL DONE!" when she put it in Daddy's hand. EWWW.... You should have seen the look on his face.

Amazing what can happen in an hour.

Baby stuff....

So, on Monday afternoon Maddy and I went to Matt's work for a baby shower. It was really nice and very sweet of them. They gave us some great baby goodies--socks, clothes, mittens, creams/baby washes, etc... Plus Matt received some really cool tshirts and onsies (yeah, for himself--hehee) that are work related. I think his favorite were the matching 'kid' and 'dad' tshirts written in binary. Although there were a couple really cute onesies too! And the cake--oh man, that was delicious!! Lemon with a pineapple/lemon filling. So cute, too. I uploaded to the baby album on our gallery.

Maddy had a nice time at the shower. She was SO EXCITED to go. She kept telling me she was going to sing 'Happy Birthday to Adrian' and yell, "Surprise!!" as well. But as soon as she walked into the board room with ALL those people she totally became shy. She wasn't bad or cried, just wanted to be held by daddy most of the time and everything she said came out in barely a whisper. It was cute though. She couldn't stop talking about it for a full day. She loved it. Plus, she also received a big sister gift--a singing barbie!! Oh, she is in LOVE!!!

Then yesterday we had our sonogram. It all went well. Adrian's heartbeat looks great, the amniotic fluid is average and he's moving around. So that's all good. However, he is a BIG baby!!! He's measuring 38 weeks in a lot of places although I'm only 34 weeks along! They estimate his weight at 7 lb. 11 oz. right now, at 34 weeks. Maddy was 7 lb. 9 oz. when she was born!! LOL, so I think we're having a big baby boy!!

Today is going to be a busy day trying to get some stuff done around the house. I have a ton of laundry that needs to be folded and put away. I really need to try to get a bit of cleaning done in the bathrooms and put our chili in the crockpot.

Oh, Maddy's been waking up at 5:40 lately. We've been sending her back to bed, but she only lays there for about 20 minutes or so and then gets back up. So I think we're going to buy a children's nightlight/alarm clock that lets her know when it's time to get out of bed. We'd just give her her own clock but her room is soooo dark (with room darkening shades/drapes) that she can't even see it. She already has a clock on the wall that I can't see either. I don't really want to put an electric alarm clock in there.

Ok, time to get this day started! Have a good one!

Caf: half caf coffee with cinnamon creamer and splenda.

Preschool!

So last night I received word from the preschool that I signed Maddy up to had accepted our application for the fall! Now she'll be in preschool three mornings a week. I'm really excited for her and I think she'll love it. I stopped by today to get the paperwork and she was super excited to go in with me.

Last night after Matt got home from work I sorted through our baby stuff. I feel really good about that. Now I need to wash the clothes that will work for Adrian and burp clothes, etc. We found most of our other baby goods too, so now it's time to start prepping them for use. I feel good that it's all located!

We had playgroup this morning and Maddy had a very fun time with it. She's taking a great nap this afternoon because of it as well! Can't go wrong with that.

The house is falling down around me. I'm able to keep it clutter free and do laundry, etc. But I just have not been able to keep up on the cleaning lately. The bathrooms are a mess, I need to dust, vacuum and sweep...etc... But I have totally run out of energy. I'm just glad to get meals on the table at night (thank God I don't have a picky husband) and make sure dishes are clean/laundry is washed. I guess that will just have to do!
