Monday Maddy started a new class--a beginning phonics class through the county. It's not too bad. I'm hoping it speeds up some as the teacher seems a bit discombobulated. But it was the first class, so here's hoping that she can get her act together. I tend not to have much patience with slow teachers. :-) But none-the-less...Maddy liked it. We had our snack after class as always. Maddy received a nice compliment from a grandmother who came with her daughter and granddaughter to class. It was sweet and Maddy said thank you.
Tuesday night Maddy went ice skating for the first time. She was horrible at it. :-) She loved every second spent with Daddy though. Matt did really well holding her up considering he's not much of a skater! They made it around two times before it was time to go home. I took some pics, so go check out Maddy's gallery! Matt's back wasn't even pulled out the next day so I was pretty glad about that. I made Matt take advil right away when we got home though. So I'm sure that helped.
Wednesday morning we drove Matt to work and had to be out of the house by 8. OH MY I thought I was going to die. How am I going to get Maddy to preschool next year on time?? Seriously, we were running around with our head chopped off. Of course, we'll find a routine and find short cuts but it seems like a long time ago that I was able to get to work by 6:45 in the morning!
Today Maddy and I went to Chuck-e-cheese. Again, I wanted to be out of the house at 9:40 but didn't make it out until 10:10. Then again, I did a load of laundry and both Maddy and I got a shower. Maddy had a great time at Chuck-e-cheese. We even cashed in her tickets afterwards and she picked up a few little toys that kept her preoccupied on the way home.
I made a few purchases lately-- a set of hardwood rocking chairs for the kids for $27 total and also a new backpack which will be a diaper bag for about $30. I looked at backpack diaperbags and none of them were quite what I wanted so I went searching for a backpack instead. I found it for about $10 cheaper than you can buy in the stores so I feel good about the purchase.
Ok, well, time to throw a pizza in the oven for dinner. Then off to read with the kiddo! Have a good rest of the day everyone!
