So this morning Maddy and I were all set to take a walk and we made it to the park (we always have to stop at the park first) and then a few more blocks when she said, "Too hot mommy!" I agreed. So we came home and got into our suits and went to the pool instead. We stayed for about an hour and a half with a 10 minute pool break/snack break in between. By the time we left her lips were purple so it was time to go!
I didn't realize the baby pool was really a 'baby pool'. It's maybe a foot deep and there's nothing fun to play in. The regular pool only goes to 3.5 feet, but still way too deep for Maddy. It starts at beach level but quickly graduates up to 3.5 feet. So I was with her constantly, obviously. We did go into the 3.5 feet but I held her and held her up while she 'swam' in the water. She and I both had fun.
We got home and took a shower together. I have to say I do like our separate shower stall. I also have a hand held shower head so I put it on the floor for Maddy and it creates a little fountain. I let her play with it while I dry off and get dressed. Then I come back for her afterward. She really needed the shower. She was still cold even after being wrapped in a towel all the way home in the stroller on a hot day. By the time we finished the shower she was nice and warm again.
At 12:30 she was ready for a nap so we both laid down. She just crashed! I did too, though. The pool takes a lot out of ya.
Maddy filled another line on her potty chart today so we opened up her new art set. She was able to pick out one part of the set. She had a lot to choose from: crayons, markers, chalk, paper, stickers, paint, etc... she of course picks--FUZZY BALLS! HA! I should have seen that coming. She's been doing a great job on the potty training though. Hopefully it continues that way as she gets more and more used to it and the novelty wears off.
Ok, well, I'm off to straighten up the main floor. I'm having a friend over tonight for smoothies and to hang out and talk. It will be nice to get together!
Tea of the day: I had OJ this morning instead of tea.
