If you've made it this far, dear readers, congratulations on overcoming the boredom. This is my 500th blog!
The only thing I like better than girls night out is girls night in. If you ask me, bar hopping, dancing, going out to dinner and to the movies is overrated. I'd rather go out for coffee with a few of my girlfriends than do those things. It's all about the communication, for me. It's harder to have a great conversation when in the mist of a club, restaurant or bar. Yesterday, one of my friends invited us (my mom's group) over to her house for some r&r. It is so great to sit around laughing with friends and having great conversations. I am always amazed going home at all the different topics we discuss and I feel so LUCKY to have this great group of friends. When I arrived last night I realized I didn't have my purse!!! Who leaves the house without her purse? Well, I do! Matt told me when I left that it would be fine to take a cab home if I need one and I assured him that I was not drinking last night as 1. I didn't have the points to spare and 2. I just wasn't all that interested anyway. I made a double cup of tea and took it in a travel mug with me instead. When I got there I realized that I didn't have my purse and that was all the more reason not to drink. I didn't have my wallet (hence license, credit card or money) on me either. I didn't leave until midnight and Matt and I went to bed at 1. He was still up when I arrived home even though I told him to not wait up for me. He told me he wasn't, that he just got busy with what he was doing, but I don't believe him. He was waiting up.
Maddy woke up at 5:30 this morning and we were able to convince her to go back to sleep until 7:30 thank goodness. I got up with her at 7:30 and Matt got up at 9. We had a very lazy morning here and it was nice to have one. I haven't sat around in PJs for quite a while. I took a shower about noon, thinking I would go out and run some errands but while I was in the shower that Matt, Maddy and I could split them up after she woke up from her nap and get them accomplished a little faster. Plus, it would allow me a nap while she took a nap. A nap is ALWAYS a good thing!
So after a heavenly nap, Matt, Maddy and I went to get them done. He dropped me off at Ulta to take something back while he ran to get gas with Maddy. Then he dropped me off at Bloom to get some grocery shopping done while he and Maddy went to BJs to get some shopping done there. We couldn't have timed it better. By the time he got out of BJs and stopped at BK for Maddy I was out of Bloom ready to load the car.
It was a hard night though. Maddy was in a mood for the majority of it since Matt and I were busy putting things away from our shopping trip. She wants Matt's full attention and when she doesn't get it, she throws a small fit. She knows better than to try it with me, but with him she expects it. I was glad to get her into bed! She must have been tired, since she was out like a light. I'm sure her teeth still hurt her as well. We did have fun playing with the camera tonight, hence the pictures.
We may or may not go to church tomorrow. It depends how the morning goes. I didn't get the chance to lay anything out tonight since we were so busy, so if I can get to it first thing tomorrow, we can get to church. We'll see. Why is it so hard to get to church at 11 is my question! We'll make it, I'm sure.
I was all on tap to have a hot bubble bath tonight with a magazine, some candles, a drink Matt made me and my iPhone playlist. I had my mask on and everything. However, I've noticed that our new bathtub doesn't pump out the hottest of water and when I finally went in it was lukewarm. YUCK. So I was only in for about 10 minutes. We need to get that fixed because it should be better than that. I'm sure it's something to do with the piping. We don't have the issue in any other bathroom, so it's not the water heater. But it was still nice to have that time.
Well, I'm off to hang out with Matt some! Have a good long weekend, everyone!
Tea of the day: None. I had coffee and it was a huge mistake. I was so hungry most of the morning because of it!
