You Gotta have friends
The feelings oh so strong
Oh you gotta have friends
to make the day last long...
Don't know if you knew it, but I'm a closet Bette Midler lover. Yep. Experience the Divine is one of my favorite CDs. That's right up there with Amy Grant Christmas CD. Now, I'm not too fond of Amy herself anymore or her singing, but that girl can put out a Christmas CD!
Anyway, I digress. I am very, very lucky. I have a ton of very dear friends. In the last week I've received such nice letters from friends dating back to grade school. I've caught up with friends from High School, college, old coworkers who've become near and dear to me and I've had a Christmas party with my mom's group. I am a very, very lucky individual to have so many good friends.
That said, I do believe in the saying, 'You reap what you sow.' I try really hard to keep in touch with friends. Now, just because I try doesn't mean I'm wonderful at it. But I do try. As long as there is some positive effort put forth from the other end, I'm more than willing to keep up my end of the deal.
So anyway, tonight I am feeling quite content.
"A friend is someone we turn to when our spirits need a lift, A friends is someone we treasure for our friendship is a gift. A friend is someone who fills our lives with beauty, joy, and grace And makes the whole world we live in a better and happier place."
