Well, we'll see....

So Maddy woke up this morning with a fever. I saw this coming a mile away. I was hoping it wouldn't, but it is. It was inevitable. So I called the pediatrician right away and I barely had to wait on hold (wow!) and they were able to get me for 50 minutes later (double wow!). I quick ate something, got Maddy dressed and put on some makeup. We ran out the door to the doctor. She was an absolute angel the entire time. She didn't even freak out over the throat swap when they tested for strep.

But the throat swap came back negative. You'd think I'd be happy about this, right? Well, sure... if it actually turns out that way. But the kid obviously has a sore throat and a fever. I have been diagnosed with strep. I just took her in too early. They said they would test the culture over the next 24 hours to see how it comes out and I'm hoping that it shows up positive so we can get her on some meds before she really starts to feel crappy. I'm also hoping it shows up positive so that way we don't need to go into the doctor again! I mean, sick kids go there, after all! :) Or maybe we'll get really lucky and she'll just work through it on her own...doubtful, but maybe.

After the doctor we went to Giant. I NEEDED to get out of the house. We have been inside because of me being sick and the weather almost constantly minus a few little runs here and there. I didn't buy all that much, just some throat meds for Maddy, yogurt, cookies...etc. Anything that will make her happy, basically.

I did make another single batch of fudge today. Matt wants to deliver three more fudge containers to three other coworkers. So they are done and in the fridge hardening so they can be cut and put into containers for him to take to work.

Here's hoping she takes a nice long nap and feels better when she gets up or at least that the children's motrin helps her some. Well, on that note, this really IS her first real sickness besides three colds in the last two years. I can't complain about that.

Tea of the day: I finally had Lipton white tea with Mango when I returned home from Giant. I ran out of time before the doctor to have some tea! Now I'm having Bigelow Sweet Dreams herbal tea
