So, we have our heat back on! They aren't quite finished yet with everything, but for the most part, it's set to go.
We spent most of the day just hanging out. Maddy LOVED having Daddy home. She also love the huge cardboard box that our heat pump came in! It's about 5 feet tall and 4 feet wide. We made her a play house out of it and she insisted that Daddy come inside, too.
The guys who worked on our heating system was REALLY great. We had a tight fit but they were able to work it around and get it all to fit. Matt calls our system sexy. HA! It does have a variable speed fan so that's pretty fun to hear it speed up and slow down. It's really well done. We were at 61 when the guys left and were up to 68 in a matter of minutes. I can't believe how fast it is. What is sad though, is that we didn't really notice that much difference in our old heating systems normal functioning and our almost no heat day. Kinda scary and sad at the same time.
Other than that, we ran out once today just to get out of the noise and banging to get to the post office. I mailed out a Christmas package to a friend in Iraq. I have to say, Maddy is such an easy going kid. The banging, pounding, cutting and screwing didn't seem to affect her at all.
