It seemed like we had a very busy day here again. Maddy was up at 5:30. Matt slept in since yesterday was my day to sleep in. He was still up by 8 though! Matt called the tow truck guys to get our car towed, literally around the corner, to the shop. We would have pushed it, honestly, if it weren't rainy and icky. But it's disgusting weather here and it's a busy road... no need for accidents. So after the $80 hook up fee and the $3 mileage fee, we were up to $83 already.
I was able to get a nice hot shower before Matt left to meet the tow truck guy. I used my new Bath and Body Works Exotic Coconut shower gel/lotion set that Matt very sweetly surprised me with last night. Turns out that the CVS has a Bath and Body Works just a couple shops down from it so while he waited for my antibiotic he went down and surprised me. He thought it reminded him of a lotion I used to use at Pottery class that was discontinued when I tried to find it and wouldn't you know it?! It really DOES smell like it. I was so surprised and amazed he remembered and then found the scent I like!!!
After dropping off the car at the shop and ok'ing them to put in a new starter, Matt went over to get his haircut and then to the grocery store for us. We put Maddy down for a nap and I hopped in the car to go to pottery lab to pick up my pots. The photo is above. Click on it to see a bigger version. I had 30 in the long run! Two are missing since I sent them to work with Matt. Then I ran to Trader Joe's and picked up my favorite soup, Roasted Tomato and Red Pepper. I also bought a lot of dried fruit for our fruity fudge I'm making for gifts this Christmas.
I came home just in time for Maddy to wake up and we all headed out to AC Moore where I was going to pick up more tins for the fudge but they were no longer on sale so I bought chinese take out christmas containers instead. They are cute and will definitely do the job. They are much cheaper, too. I bought a few other things as well. Nothing crazy. We are going to have a playgroup Christmas party this Friday and I bought a craft activity that I happened to stumble upon that I thought the kids would like for a really decent price. I also bought a cute sticker book set for .50 a piece, too. A steal!!! I needed to pick up a gift for my Secret Santa exchange so I did that at the same time. Then off to Wendy's for a Frosty for Maddy. Mmm... she loved that. They gave her a balloon, too.
We picked up the car after that, $550 later.... sigh... that's the way it goes! We came home, had dinner and now Maddy's getting prepped for bed.
It was a good weekend though. Very productive. I mean, we were able to get me into the doctor, get meds, have the car break and get fixed all before Matt needs to go back to work tomorrow. Better than him having to take off again!
Tea of the day: Haven't had much today, just my morning dose--Orange Deluce. I can tell though, since my throat hurts! So I'll be chugging more herbal tea tonight!
