Happy Sunday!

Good afternoon! Maddy has been having a blast with my mom. They've been playing a ton and having a good ol' time. She watched Maddy today while Matt and I went to church. I did get to teach Sunday School today since the kids I wanted to teach stuck around. Matt went out to hang flyers for Holy Week while I taught. I also prepped for the next couple of lessons considering it took Matt longer than it took me.

I got home just in time to give Maddy a kiss before her nap. She was up last night at 4:30 with allergies and I had a hard time going to back to sleep after she went back to bed. I felt so bad for her with her runny, itchy nose. She was very good though and I have to say I really enjoyed the snuggle time with her.

Oh and I've been eating horribly--there goes my diet. I also don't know if I'll be able to work out M-W because of the tile guys.

Lots going on this week: Two pastor visits, tile guy is here, making a meal for a new mom in my mom's group.

Ok, well, since Maddy is still napping I'm going to get a couple of things done! Have a good one!

Tea of the day: Coffee, splenda and cinnamon caramel creamer
WO of the day: None today.

Wow, that was fast!

Well today went really well but went REALLY fast. This morning my mom and I cooked some Three Bean Casserole and Sloppy Joe. (Maddy is spoiled now. She won't eat anything but Grandma's Sloppy Joes.) I froze a lot of the three bean and packed up some for a new mom near my house. I also packed up some for church on Sunday and froze that. We have a potluck after Easter Service.

After that Maddy went down for a nap and mom and I went out to the mall. I bought clothes. Yes, clothes. I bought two pair of black dress pants and six dress shirts. They were all on sale. I haven't bought clothes in SO long. I have been trying to lose the weight to fit into my old dress clothes. But well, I give up. So I bought new stuff. So now instead of asking, "What CAN I wear?" It's "What do I WANT to wear?" I did pick up a new makeup item at Sephora, too. So that's ALWAYS fun. I also picked up a cute little travel brush for my purse. Also fun. It was nice to get out as an adult at the mall and have the time to try on clothes.

But can I tell you how impatient I am waiting in line to pay for my items? I also am so impatient waiting in line for trying on items. Most of me thinks, "If they want me to BUY these things, you'd think they'd accommodate us, the customer, to make it easier."

After we got home, I put away the food, switched over the laundry, cleaned a bit for pastor's visit. (Mom helped a ton watching Maddy and helping clean).

Pastor came over. The visit went fine. He asked us to reconsider switching churches. Well.... We said we'd think on it, but that's all we promised. Tomorrow night the other pastor comes over.

Ok, well, wanted to check in. Tomorrow is mom's last day here. She leaves early Wednesday. Her visit went WAY too fast. But well, I'm glad she came! Maddy has had a great time with her.

Tea of the day: Coffee, splenda and creamer (Matt let me sleep in some and brought me breakfast in bed!!! I took Benedryl at 3 am when Maddy woke up at 1, I was awake for three hours!)
WO of the day: Nothin'. *Sigh*

Catching up!

(My how she's grown. Maddy at 16 months and Maddy at 8 months.)

Well, there's been a lot going on lately!

First, mom and I had a very nice visit. I think she had a blast with Maddy and the weather was just gorgeous the entire time they were here. So, we were able to get outside a lot and let Maddy enjoy the weather Mom and I did a bit of shopping, too. Girl time is always fun!

The weather was so nice while she was here, Maddy was able to get into her swimsuit from last year and go into her wading pool! She liked splashing around in it, but wouldn't sit down in the bottom. She sat on the inflated edge of it for the most part. Or, she stood outside of it and played in it. The water wasn't too cool either since I brought water from inside in buckets and then filled with cold water too. So it was a bit cooler than bath water but not by much! She had fun though. Just seeing her in that swimsuit reminded me of how big she's become!

We had both Pastor meetings this week. They went fine. Our current pastor asked us to reconsider. We met the next night with our new pastor and he said he'd send a letter asking for transfer to our current pastor. I asked him to please hold off a bit because we told Pastor we'd think on it some more before we transfer. He understood and said he'd await our phone call. The new pastor seems really nice and church has a lot to offer although I'm almost disappointed i that it seems typical WELS in the size (and therefore the friendliness, too).

The new tile got finished today in our basement! It looks FABULOUS. The guys did a great job and honestly, I can't imagine anything else in there. Only issue we had was with 'timeliness and communication'. The dude just wouldn't show up and wouldn't call. However, when they WERE here they worked hard and did a great job. I don't know if I'd recommend them, but the work they did was excellent. We did reconsider the carpet as soon as we had that flood from the washer. At least tile can just be dried off. The shower stall looks just amazing. I love it and I want it for my master bathroom! Ha!!! And that's our spare bathroom, too! Maybe after we let budget settle out a bit we'll consider tile in other places as well. I'd love to do the foyer. But one thing at a time, shall we?

All we have left to finish out that room is buying, staining and installing the trim and two doors. Well, that's after the plumber comes tomorrow and puts in the faucets in the tub, the toilet and the vanity/sink. I'm hoping he gets here really early because I have an Easter playgroup I want to go to! I made Rice Crispy Treats so I really WANT to go since they will go to waste otherwise. I don't like them much and Matt doesn't want to eat both pans.

We're going to have our Easter dinner on Saturday instead of Sunday since on Sunday we have a pot luck after service. We're going to have ham, green beans and au gratin potatoes on Saturday. We're also having an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday for church which I'm sure Maddy will just love. I don't know if she's completely get it. If I know her she'll just put her egg in the basket, take it out, hand it to me, take it back and put it in the basket. I don't think she'll get the idea that she's supposed to collect as many as she can. I think she'll be happy with just ONE! My mom's group is also supposed to have an Easter Egg Hunt but the weather is supposed to be bad tomorrow so we'll see.

Matt gets off early tomorrow and he and a coworker are going to head off to Home Depot and bring home a door for the bathroom. It's really nice of his coworker to offer to lend a hand. Although his wife turned down an invitation to join my mom's group at another slumber party for this month's mom's night out. So **Ppphhhhtt** on her. ;) Oh, and some words just SHOULDN'T be said. (I'm only saying this because I know Matt's coworker reads my blog now and again.)

Ok, well, I'm off to watch a bit of TV with Matt.

Tea of the day: Stash Green Chai Tea (First tea in a week since I've been having coffee with mom every morning.)
WO of the day: Nothing. Big FAT nothing. I haven't been able to get at my elliptical machine much less ride it. Monday starts a new week though. I miss it!

!!!!!!!

So! Every title for the last six blog entries ended with an exclamation point according to to my recent posts column on the right hand side of the screen! I must be more excited than I thought I am! Interesting!

In the home stretch...

Well, we officially are done with contractors starting today. The plumber did show up today and worked until about 12:30 on the bathroom. It took much longer than I thought it would which depresses me a little bit. Since I wanted to go to the Easter Party for Maddy. However, I kind of resigned myself to it before Matt left for work since I also had a sinus headache and the plumber wasn't here at 8:35. So I cut the Rice Crispy Treats and sent them off to work with Matt. That's good at least, since it's too easy to eat a whole pan without meaning to! Matt got a lot of compliments on them at work and they were gone in a 1/2 hour. I find that hard to believe. I mean, they are RICE CRISPY TREATS. They are nothing exciting! But I guess it was the fact I did half berry crispies and half regular that people loved. Eh. I'm glad they liked them that much! Me? I didn't think they were all that wonderful.

But yes, now we are officially a 3 and 1/2 bath house. It's funny to wake up this morning being 2 1/2 bath and go to 3 1/2 bath during the day. Most of me just thinks about the extra cleaning I will need to do to keep it up! HA! But it looks nice and this weekend I'm hoping to put up the shower rod, curtain, toilet paper holder, etc... I'm thinking about how I will stock it. I have bath products for in there, too. Of course, I am all about the bath products!

I don't think Maddy's feeling too well today, though. I guess that's another reason I should be glad we didn't go to the Easter Party. She has had an itchy, snotty, sneazy nose all day. I didn't recognize it this morning, but I did give her some tylanol cold before I laid her down for her second nap (her 1st afternoon nap only lasted 30 minutes and she woke up crying). So I'm glad I kept whatever germs to ourselves although I'm pretty sure it's just allergies like what gave me my sinus headache.

I'm starting to wonder how we're going to fit everything we have back into a place for everything. I don't know if we're going to be able to swing it or not. I think we'll either need to get a storage unit (and I HATE adding an extra bill every month) or give away some stuff to make it all fit. I was contemplating a mini shed, but I don't think there's much point in that. What I want to store really shouldn't be stored in the elements.

*duh, duh, dum* (Matt close your eyes and don't read the next paragraph). What I need to really do is a major cleaning out. I need to go through everything AGAIN and get rid of stuff we don't need and not just from the basement, but from the bedrooms and kitchen. The basement is pretty much as cleaned out as we're going to get it. But I know I can add some space in our bedrooms if I had the chance. So.... I see that in my near future. The kitchen is especially hard and lots to go. I mean, really, I'm keeping stuff that I NEVER use. So why am I keeping it? But I can't do the blender routine like my mom did and need it again later (sorry mom!).

Matt gets off of work early today and I'm happy for that. Maddy has been in a decent mood but really clingy (or snuggly depending on what connotation you'd like to phrase it as). I know she'd love some snuggles with daddy.

We're heading off to a new grocery store near me tonight. They do the neatest thing. They stock single beer bottles (imports and high end brands mainly) that can be mixed into a six pack carton for a 'create your own' mix of beer for $8. I stopped over there a couple of nights ago to pick up baby food for Maddy and saw it. So I bought Matt a six pack and he thought it was the coolest idea! It is pretty fun. I think we've changed our minds and we're having steak for dinner tomorrow night instead of ham for Easter.

Latest Maddy things: She loves spicy food! She's a peanut butter girl. However, she licks the peanut butter off anything I give her and won't eat the other part (graham crackers, bread, etc). She loves popcorn (I break it up into tiny pieces). She's following numerous multistep directions now. However, I need to stop repeating myself because she doesn't need to get into the habit of hearing me say the direction 10 times while in the process of doing them. That's creating the need for her to hear it that many times before she follows a direction. She misses being outside. But it's just been too cold! She's using really nice hands with Joe now and Joe is actually letting her pet him. It's sweet. On the other hand, she's much faster so she almost catches Ruthie!

Ok, have a great one, everyone!

Tea of the day: 2 cups Gloria Jeans Cinnamon Spice Black Tea
WO of the day: Nothin'. I'm hoping tomorrow morning I can work out.

April 7, 2007

Argh, what a day!

I should have realized that when Maddy slept through the night (first night in over a week) and then slept in as well (8:20) she was being gracious to us and letting us rest up for the rest of the day. Because she was HELL ON WHEELS today. Holy crap. (Excuse my language, but, really there is no better words for it.)

This morning she was whiny a lot. I gave her tylanol cold since she still seems stuffy in the one nostril. But it didn't help the whininess. I was able to get the kitchen floor, powder room floor and foyer floor washed on my hands and knees while she watched an upside down show. I was also able to vacuum while Matt had her. But--that's the extent of me being productive today.

I did defrost the Three Bean Casserole for church for tomorrow's pot luck. That was before I realized we won't be able to stay for it. Maddy has been napping every day at noon so I don't think we'll be able to go. We'll need to get home right after Sunday School and the Easter Egg hunt. We'll see how she's doing, but I don't want her overtired for her nap. Especially with the mood she's been in! I did make two more pans of Rice Crispy Treats and I will take both with me tomorrow for the church pot luck and leave them there. So at least I'm giving them something.

This evening was a disaster with Maddy. We took her to Lowes and were there for LITERALLY 10 minutes. But within that amount of time she wanted out of the cart and only wanted to push the cart. If we wanted to hold her she'd whine. If we wanted to let her walk and hold our hand, she'd whine. ENOUGH WITH THE WHINING. Matt did take back the extra tile we didn't need and we did buy a cabinet for over the toilet in our new bathroom, a mirror for our bathroom and weed/seed. Buy she was a holy terror. She never actually threw a fit but we had to fight her the whole time. We just went home, it simply wasn't worth it.

Matt made steaks tonight on the grill for dinner along with asparagus, mushrooms and potato salad. It was great! After dinner I started my prep work for church tomorrow. I picked out my clothes, jewerly, etc. I took out all of Maddy's stuff and cut off the tags. I prepped her diaper bag, cut the rice crispy treats. Sheesh, it takes SO MUCH to go to church now a days! It's unbelievable.

I'm peeved at church right now, too. A member called me two nights ago and asked if I'd take over the younger group in addition to the older group for Sunday School. Sure, no biggie. I've taught multigrades before. I can do it again. BUT I want to know what the craft lesson she had planned was. I asked her to email me it so I'd know what to expect or if I had enough for the older, too. Well, no email. I'll be darned if I drive 25 minutes to church to see if the plans are there to drive 25 minutes back. To make matters even more up in the air, they delivered flyers last weekend advertising our Easter Service. On there it says there is a 'Children's message' starting at 11:15. Well, do you know who that is??? If you guessed ME you'd be correct. Again, I can talk to any number of kids of any ages of any kind of ability. But--again--the craft! I have no idea how many kids to expect tomorrow thanks to the flyer. All I had planned was enough for my usual three older ones. I don't know what the craft is for the younger ones either. So now I'm left with creating a craft that can span ages 4-13, 1-20 children, TONIGHT for tomorrow morning. SHEESH. It would have been nice that Pastor even told me about the brochures. I had no clue. At least I would have planned for an unknown number of kids instead of my usual 3. I'm peeved if you can't tell.

Alrighty, so I'm off to prep for Sunday School. Wish me luck. I see a lot of coloring pages coming my way to send home. But again... craft? Going to go and find one now. Thank God for the internet. Seriously.

HAPPY EASTER!

Well, it was busy, busy here this morning! Maddy opened her Easter basket after she got up. I got up at 7:30 and ran around getting ready. I left before they were ready since I decided I was making Easter Baskets with the kids in Sunday School today. All the preprep I did last night helped a ton though. There was very little thought this morning, just grab things and go. After I got to church I preprepped all my Easter Basket stuff and met up with Matt and Maddy in the church.

Maddy did really well in church up to the very end. I did take her out after offering with only about 7 minutes left of church. But she was done and she did well otherwise. Thank goodness for snacks!

I had four kids for Sunday School and it went well. After Sunday School Maddy participated in the Easter Egg Hunt. She was a bit confused why we were outside picking up eggs, but she enjoyed herself. We came home after that.

Matt said that Maddy slept almost all the way home in the car since he followed me home and we had two cars. He tried to keep her awake so that she'd sleep here. She did get up in the middle of the night last night for just a few minutes. I think she was hungry since she went to bed in such a lousy mood. She didn't want to eat her bedtime snack or drink any milk. But, even though she woke up she went back to sleep just fine.

We came home and took a few more Easter Dress pictures of her. I uploaded a TON of Easter pictures so feel free to go look by clicking on the pictures!

Matt and I had steak and eggs for lunch and it was delicious! (Maddy had some granola with raisins before her nap since she could barely keep her eyes open.)

Tea of the day: None, haven't had the chance today at all.
WO of the day: Again, none. Tomorrow I'm starting again!

Maddy and Daddy.

My daughter is addicted to the Upside Down Show. I don't know if you've ever seen it, but it's these two young guys who do sound effects and make believe comedy. They are really funny. Matt likes them and even I like them. But Maddy LOVES them. They've easily taken the place of Oobi and Elmo. The Upside Down Show even rivals Jack's Big Music Show and that's pretty amazing since Maddy loves that one so much. I would even dare say it's surpassed it.

Maddy loves planes, too. She will stop everything she's doing to point to them if she hears them in the sky and she loves to watch the planes land, too. She is so her father's daughter in so many ways. Her love of planes, trying to figure out how things work, her fearless ways. It's amazing how much she's like daddy.

Speaking of daddy. He loves to show off Maddy. On Friday Matt and his coworker went to Lowes to pick up doors for the bedroom project. He got home and showed off our new room and then wanted Maddy to get up. And well, it WAS time for her to get up since it was 5 pm. So we slowly woke her up and let me tell ya, Daddy glowed ear to ear. He loves showing Maddy off to his friends.

Maddy took a 4 hour nap today. I can't BELIEVE it. I guess the Easter Egg Hunt really wore her out.

Alrighty, I better get a move on. Have a great week, all!

April 9, 2007

Rollercoaster day

Maddy woke up this morning in a MOOD. Nothing I could do, read books, have a snack, get a toy..etc. would please her. After her nap, she was better and wanted to snuggle and wrestle a lot. She fed me a lot of her food, which was cute. Daddy came home and she fussed and fussed even when he was holding her. Turns out she wanted big time daddy snuggles. So they snuggled on the couch while watching a Jack's Big Music Show while I ate left overs. She really didn't eat dinner, even though I tried her with a couple of things. She didn't want her bedtime snack either or milk so I'm assuming she'll be up tonight. She did sleep through the night last night.

After dinner we all played a bit and THAT'S when it happened. She started running--everywhere--wouldn't stop. Uh oh, we hit the point of no return. Matt went upstairs to get her ready for bed and I'm really happy she can't talk yet because with the tone of voice and forcefulness she was using, I'm pretty sure she was swearing at Matt. I'll be honest, I was dying laughing in the next room. I couldn't help it. That little girl has attitude and she'll darn well let you know what she's thinking.

Amazingly, she seems to be asleep. Not a fuss as soon as we closed the door. We'll see in a couple hours though what happens.

I worked out today for the first time in over a week, whoo whoo!!! I'm glad about that and I've missed it. My alarm went off at 6:30 and Matt immediately tries to roll over and snuggle me. Naughty man, he knows I can't resist the snuggles. But I jumped out of bed quick before he could grab me. I could tell it's been over a week since I've worked out, though. I did work in my pilates ab work (when Maddy wasn't tackling me on the floor) and my pushups (she comes and squats in front of me and stares at my face as I go up and down laughing. Then she'll pat me on the head. Of course, I die laughing and I can't keep my stomach firm so I collapse). It's a great way to wake up and I find I'm in a GREAT mood when Maddy gets up at 7:30 after I work out. I mean, I'm READY for my day.

I've rededicated myself to eating better. I've let that slip quite a bit so I'm going to do better at that.

Oh, I took a shower in the new shower today after my workout. I have to say, I love those shower shelves. They are NICE. I was already plotting what I want to do to our shower when the time comes (even though that's a long way off). It's NICE, NICE, NICE!! I moved some of my shower stuff down there so if I want to shower in there instead of waking up Matt after my workout I can do that.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Tea of the day: 1 cup Gloria Jean's Cinnamon Spice, 2 cups BBW Relax tea (now gone)
WO of the day: 30 minutes elliptical, Pilates Ab work, pushups

Coffee

Well, today has been a very productive day around here. It all started with a cup of coffee. It sounded good today since I had chocolate caramel creamer to use. (Eh, with the creamer though. Nothing too special.)

Then I started thinking about how we don't have anything going on today for the first time in a while. So I impromptu offered to host a playgroup this morning. I only asked about 1 hour before it was to start so I didn't have any takers. However, the perfectionist side of me kicked in and I started to clean--not a lot. I just quick vacc'd, swept the floors and wiped down the powder room. Well, then that lead to me dusting the living room which led to me dusting the dining room/storage room. That lead to me putting away stuff in Maddy's room, cleaning her bathroom (even the baseboards) and dusting her room. Then I cleaned our bathroom, too. I spent time today cleaning little things I very seldomly clean but need to be cleaned. Maddy enjoyed her time in the other rooms she's not normally in and I was able to get things done.

During her nap I wrote a letter I've been meaning to write and cleaned the spare bedroom's window. I can't even start to tell you how nasty it was inside and out. I guess the stuff they sprayed on the walls missed their destination a bit when they were painting and it was glued onto the windows. Not to mention, it was a storage room before then so we never cleaned it. Plus, it faces our garden so when it downpours it gets splashed with dirt. It was GROSS. I did clean the TV, front door and kitchen window where Maddy likes to stick her hands.

However, she only slept for 45 minutes!!! Man, I was on a roll and I will be honest I was quite frustrated when she woke up. I was frustrated because not only did she only sleep for 45 minutes, I hadn't even sat down for a minute to myself yet since I was on such a roll cleaning. I did just lay her down about 15 minutes ago and I ran outside to the mailbox and washed the outside of the spare window. Now she's up again calling for me. SHEESH. I guess it's going to be a long afternoon!

Yesterday we did go to Lowes and the grocery store and it was nice to get out a bit. It's so cold and wet today although not raining yet. I just don't want to take her out. Plus, we don't need a whole lot of anything so there's no real reason to go.

Well, I better go get the munchkin up.

Tea of the day: Just coffee.
WO of the day: 30 minutes elliptical, yesterday and today.

Happy Friday!

Well, Matt had a happy hour last night with old coworkers and he had a very nice time. I'm glad. He needs to get out more with friends the way he lets me get out with friends.

Maddy wasn't so happy daddy wasn't here though. About a 1/2 hour after laying her down she started to call out so I rocked her a bit. About 15 minutes after that she made a couple noises but she fell asleep. I am almost sure she was trying to wait for daddy to get home. She did wake up quite a few times in the middle of the night last night. So I did not work out this morning. The three of us finally got up at 9! So that means Matt was late for work and Maddy and I didn't go to playgroup! I was really looking forward to it, too.

Maddy had a lazy morning. I'm pretty sure it was from the lack of good sleep. So we just hung out a lot. I didn't lay her down for a nap until 1:15 since she woke up so late but she's still napping, so that's good.

Matt's parents will be here soon! They haven't seen Maddy for about a month now, I think. So they will get to see all the new things she's doing. She'll have a blast. Matt and I plan on doing a few house things this weekend, but not too much. It'll be nice to relax a bit. Matt has a council meeting tomorrow for church and I have Sunday School on Sunday. We have said we'll continue on in our current rolls until the end of the month. However, we are feeling the push back from our current pastor regarding our transfer. But well, it's the decision we've made and we haven't made it lightly. So he'll just need to go with it in the end.

Ok, off to get a couple of things done before Matt's folks show up!

Have a great weekend!

Tea of the day: 2 cups Stash Green Chai
WO of the day: None with getting up all night.

Squeak, rattle, pop no more!

Our bed frame is brand new. We bought it because the old one really rattled a lot. We also bought the matching headboard to our bedroom set at the same time. Well, even though it was brand new we had the same issues with it as the old one. It got so bad that when Matt rolled over in bed a couple nights ago he woke up Maddy! Well, that was it. Matt should be able to roll over if he wants to and Maddy should be able to sleep through the night.

Yesterday we bought everything we needed during our 2 1/2 hour trip to Lowes getting bed 'depopping' supplies. We put rubber washers between metal, plastic tape between longer pieces of where metal touch, felt on the frame itself between the box spring and frame. We did a number to the frame! Fortunately, right now, it seems to have done the trick. We'll see what happens in the next couple of days. But right now, I can roll over without waking the house!!

Do during our three hour tour at Lowes yesterday (trust me, I felt like Gilligan). we bought the trim for our spare room (composite, prestained--cheaper/less work), some supplies to tighten Maddy's crib and fix her drawer that keeps falling out underneath and other things like that. It wasn't a bad trip, but as always Lowes was NUTS on the weekend. Plus, with the rain coming I think everyone was trying to head out before it. We did take a couple of things back as well, including more tile (the last of it now), a medicine cabinet and a over the toilet storage cabinet.

Matt made some great salmon on the grill last night! We had a nice time hanging out after Maddy went to bed (but she needed a bit of help with that). Now I have insomnia. But I better not spend anymore time. I need to teach Sunday School tomorrow and I need my rest! Have a good night (or what's left of it).

April 17, 2007

Our weekend...

Well, I think a good time was had by all this weekend. Matt's parents got her on Friday and we all had Five Guys for dinner. They do make the best burgers. Maddy really enjoyed playing with grandma and grandpa!!!

Matt was super impressed with the amount of organizing and putting away I did throughout the last part of the week that all we had to do was put up the bed! That was it! We didn't need to run around crazy and try to put stuff away to make that spare room habitable.

Maddy's been having a hard time sleeping the last few nights. It's been frustrating for all of us.

Saturday morning Matt had a church council meeting and he mentioned transfer and didn't get any grief about it from the board which is good. It was a long meeting and as usual he came home frustrated. Poor guy. After he came home and Maddy went down for a nap, he and I went to Lowes. We were there for 2 and a 1/2 hours! It was crazy! But, we did get a lot of what we needed. My parents gave us a GC to Lowes and we used the entire thing on Saturday. It really came in handy.

Sunday Matt stayed home from church and I went because I taught Sunday School. I honestly would have stayed home too due to the weather. It was just really junky--windy, cold and a bit of water in the air. It was sooo windy that we have a lot of down tree limbs near us. But that bit of water stung because of all the wind. I was glad to get home. After Maddy's nap on Sunday I made enchiladas for dinner and they were heavenly. I froze the left overs. Matt worked all day on Sunday putting the trim in the spare room and it's virtually done!

Matt's mom took off work and was able to stay through Monday which is really nice. On Monday because of the weather they stayed another day! Very cool! So I worked out both days while they watched Maddy and it's great to not have to jump out of bed and work out at 6:30. Back to the grind tomorrow though. Since they were here they offered to let me get out and do what I wanted so I met up with Matt for lunch which was great. And then I went to Greatland Target to pick up some groceries and other items. I scored a lot of great Easter Stuff for Maddy for next year at 90% off!!!!! Can't go wrong with that.

Matt's parents treated us to Wegmans deli last night. As usual, I went with their sushi which I love. They even surprised us by picking up some individual sized desserts and they got me my favorite--peanut butter pie! I was only able to eat 1/2 since I was so full from sushi and potato pancake (also a great Wegmans food). So I guess I have another treat coming tonight!

Last night Matt and his dad went out to see 300 and Matt's mom and I watched a couple of my Tivo'd shows. We watched a Great Hotels on St. Regis. And so help me, if I ever win the lottery (can't win if you don't play and I don't play) I am staying at the Regis while I'm in NYC!! WOW. It is impressive. I've always wanted my own butler. ;) We also watched a Small Spaces Big Design and a couple Offbeat Americas.

When Matt and his dad got home from the movie we watched Dancing with the Stars. I love that show on Tivo. I get to cut out all the crud and just fast forward through all the talk. Heather Mills drives me nuts though. Most people I know with disabilities don't like to bring attention to their disability. They want to be like everyone else. But not her, she will milk her artificial limb for every point she can get. The judges fall for it, too. This is a dance competition, not a dance but feel sorry for me and give me points competition. I don't see them giving John Ratsenberger additional points because he's older and has arthritis. They shouldn't either, that's not the point! It's judging the dance without factoring in other issues.

I'm thrilled to say Maddy's been eating pretty well today. She has not the last few days. I think she finally figured out she's hungry and now is finally eating. It's been frustrating. Grandma even tried five things during lunch yesterday but she wouldn't have any of it! I'm glad to know it's not just me though.

Alright, well, I have chores to do! Have a good one, everyone!

Playgroup fun!

You know, I think I'm really starting to get into the swing of this whole mom thing. I always felt like I just NEVER got anything done. Well, this morning I worked out, showered, was dressed with makeup and blowdry by 7:30. Add in that I started a load of laundry and had it switched before playgroup this morning and I'm pretty darn happy!

A lot of fun stuff going on this week. We had playgroup this morning and Maddy had an absolute blast. There were five other kids there besides her, but two of them were within two months older than her. So they were all about the same level. It was so much fun to see her interact with them. There were a couple older ones (2 1/2) and one of them (the only boy in the group) was taken with me. So he kept trying to tackle me and I kept tickling his tummy. Maddy would stop whatever she was playing with, come over, frown, yell a bit at the boy and walk away and keep playing. It was HILARIOUS. She never got overly upset about it, so that was good. Anyway, I think the three girls will most likely get together for another playgroup soon. I may offer to host one next week. The moms were really nice too and I think we were all mid to upper twenties. I was probably the oldest of the three.

It was nice to hear that Maddy isn't the only little one who is fussy about eating. It actually sounds like she may eat the most out of the three girls which REALLY surprised me considering how much I stress over what she'll eat (or more like, what she WON'T eat).

Tonight I have Bunco. That's always fun to get together with other women and play. On Friday Matt and I are going to a party that evening and leaving Maddy at home with a SITTER!!! EAK! It will be our first one. I am not nervous though since it's a mom I know and she's GREAT with Maddy and her own little boy. Plus, Maddy will be asleep, so hopefully she just won't wake up! I'm not worried. The party isn't very far away anyway, so if there's an issue we'd be able to get home pronto. On Saturday I may have breakfast with Rosanna, but we'll see. She doesn't have anything going on right now and we just need to firm up plans. Next Wednesday, I have another Mom's Night Out so that will be fun, too!

I still haven't figured out what's for dinner tonight, but it will need to be something quick so I can get out the door to bunco. Hmm... I better go and figure that out! Have a good day, everyone!

Early morning.

I had a really nice time at Bunco last night. It's always fun to go and play. Matt tried to have me explain it to him and explaining it sure is more complicated than playing it! The host had two beautiful dogs and normally I'm not taken with dogs, but these were gorgeous! I ate way too much, like I always do at Bunco. Chocolate at the tables, snacks before...sheesh. I'd be surprised if I didn't gain a pound just from Bunco. I had a nice glass of wine, too.

I am all set to host the two mom's from my playgroup next Wednesday. They seem really excited about it and I know I am, too. It's neat that the girls are all so close in age. I really hope it goes well since they are so close and would be a good playgroup to continue. It helps the moms are really nice and seem much like me, too!

Maddy was up at 6 this morning and I debated just keeping her up. But she still seemed tired and was awake between 8-9 last night with a stuffy nose. So, we gave her some milk and laid her back down. She's still asleep. Matt did get ready right away and went off to work. I worked out and showered. Nothing going on today, which is nice, too. I'm hoping to get some cleaning done here. I still have some laundry to put away and a couple bills to pay.

This weekend is supposed to be beautiful weather! Of course, I have a little list of things I want to get done this weekend. The number one being the lawn. We need to weed and seed and mow it. It's HORRIBLE right now. I'd like to weed the garden and lay down the mulch as well. Maddy's clothes and toys need sorting, too.

But I would like to go out and have some fun this weekend. Since the weather is supposed to be so nice, I'd like to maybe do a picnic with Maddy and Matt. It would be a lot of fun. Or at the very least, I want to get outside and play a bit.

I'm in kind of a weird place right now with the whole Virginia Tech thing. Plus, a friend of a friend lost her two year old boy on his birthday. They don't know what happened, it just did. She is expecting a baby in five weeks. I can't even imagine... Just makes me think that kids aren't safe anywhere--whether it be violence or fluke death. Makes me give Maddy a little tighter, longer squeeze when I hug her. "We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."

Have a good day, everyone!

Nice time last night!

Well, Matt and I had a really nice time at Karen's party last night. Two other mom's from my mom's group showed up as well along with a sister. It was fun!!! I had a few drinks and got all the beads for the four elements. She had an element theme party and had drinks to accompany earth, fire and water. (She didn't have one for air, hence I had three beads.) Her house is just gorgeous and HUGE! Matt was giving the place a good look over. I don't think I've ever been in as big of a house!

A friend's sister was REALLY funny last night. She even gave Matt a run for his money. Normally Matt is the one who says things that...er.... make people laugh because they're a bit out there and not quite appropriate. (Some of his friends have given him the name captain inappropriate.) But last night, it was the sister that left Matt speechless. (It's not often that I hear other women tell Matt to strip.) FUNNY!

Matt didn't like that I dragged him out of the party, but it was already 10:15 and I wanted to pick up some food before heading home. I wanted to be home by 11. We never heard from Abby on our cells so we assumed all went ok. We got home to find out it had! Maddy never woke up so she never had to go in. Maddy did wake up about 3:00 and I gave her some tylanol cold. Plus she leaked through her diaper so I changed out her clothes, too.

We all slept in until 8 this morning and it was REALLY nice. We just finished breakfast and now we're trying to figure out the attack on the rest of the day. Our community is having a spring fling today, so we may go to that. It was postponed from last week. There will be an Easter Egg hunt, too. Or we may hop off to a great park around our area. We'll see. But there are some chores that need to get done first!

Of course, this may all be put off because Matt got a spider bite yesterday (at least that's what I think it is) and it's getting worse, not better. If it gets much worse I'm taking him to urgent care.

Have a good one!

Tea of the day: Stash Green Chai
WO: none today

Nice day!

Well, it was a beautiful day here today and Maddy went outside to play three separate times. She really enjoyed herself with daddy the first time. I took her out to our Home Owners Association Spring Fling (yes, she loved the chocolate from the Easter Egg Hunt) and then we all ate dinner outside on the back deck.

I got quite a bit done around the house today--two loads of laundry (out on the line), sorted Maddy's clothes, weeded and seeded, weeded the garden, made my grocery list and menu for the week--did quite a bit!

Matt did wind up going to Urgent Care but really, it was fast! He was home in about an hour. He has a prescription for an oral antibiotic and an oral antihistamine. We'll see what kind of use he is tomorrow and weather or not he can drive.

I did forget to mention that I enjoyed getting dressed up last night for the party, too. I was probably over dressed, but it felt good to wear nice clothes, makeup, jewelry, etc... That's half the fun of a party to me!

Maddy had fun at the Spring Fling. She again, didn't much care about the Easter Egg hunt. She only picked up two eggs and that was all she cared about it. Now, I think if they put chocolate on the ground in their wrapper she'd have them all beat out! :) We did decorate a cupcake, but, eh, she didn't care for it. She did enjoy playing on the playground though, like she always does!

Maddy is still VERY runny tonight and we've been alternating between tylanol cold and benedryl since we aren't really sure if it's a cold or allergies. I'm still pretty sure it's allergies, but.... ?

Tomorrow I have Sunday School. Then next week is my last week to teach it. In May we are transferring churches. I think tonight we are going to have a fire in the chimnea on the back deck.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

April 22, 2007

Happy Earth Day....or not (updated).

I think I'm going to take Earth Day today to rebel against it. The Earth is ticking me off today!!!

Maddy's allergies were horrible last night and now she has a sore throat and doesn't want to eat or drink because of it. I was up rocking her a ton last night. Fortunately for me, Matt allowed me to sleep in until 8 when Maddy was finally up at 7. Poor baby, I can tell she's miserable.

Matt's reaction hasn't gotten any better to his bite/sting. Now, that's partially our fault since by the time Matt got to the pharmacy to pick up his meds they were closed! It was a 24 hour store so I assumed (wrongly) that the pharmacy would be open a bit later. But when Matt went around 8 pm they were closed. So he has to go get them this morning at 10. The reaction has spread though, so I think once he takes the antihistamine meds he will be down for the count today. The reaction is now on a line on his face and the original reaction is bigger, too.

So, Maddy wasn't going to go to church today because she just feels like crud. But now I don't want Matt to stay with her since he's having an allergic reaction and can't watch her and take antihistamine meds at the same time. So at 8 am I called Pastor to let him know I won't be there for Sunday School. Ah well, what can I do??

So, hey, Mother Earth! Here's a big PPPPPHHHHHHHHFFFFFFTTTT!!! in your general direction.

_____________________________________________________
Well, both of them are down for a nap. His rash has since then it spread to his face (a single inflamed line) and another spot on his arm. His original bite is weeping. So he's on the prescriptions but I want him to go to emergency, but we'll see how the prescriptions work first. It's worrisome though. I don't know what he was bit by, but I'm guessing a poisonous spider. The antihistamine has totally threw Matt for a loop and there's no way he's going to drive. As it was he forgot to turn off the toaster oven. IF he goes to work tomorrow I am going to have to drop him off and pick him up.

Maddy has been feeling like crap since a couple of days ago. Really runny nose. Well, now she doesn't want to take meds so I have to mix it into icecream. She was up four times last night and today has a sore throat. I feel bad for her since she's just miserable.

But they are both down for a nap now and I have a bit of peace. I will check on Matt later and see if it's getting worse cause if it is, he's going to emergency.

I should go to bed...

God only knows how many times Maddy may be up tonight. (And as much as Matt is a very dear help to me all the time--no, no, I take that back. We help each other and I wouldn't say that I carry the weight at night. I would say we're basically equal. However, he's no match for his oral antihistamine.) Now I think she has a cold since I seem to be a bit runny, too! SHEESH. I hope both her and I clear up by Wednesday since I have Mom's Night Out that night and am supposed to host a playgroup that morning.

The day went overall, fairly well. It could have went much worse. Matt's bite area seems to be evening out and the swelling has definitely gone down. I can see more little bump pustules now but I also think it's because the swelling has gone down and now they are more noticeable. His face seems about the same. However, I did notice a remarked difference after just one dose of antibiotic and antihistamine. Originally, he and I planned to go into emergency this evening, but since it stopped spreading, we reconsidered. Then we planned to go into the doctor tomorrow, but now I think it may be more prudent to wait another day or two (given things continue to improve and don't stay the same/get worse). That way, he can go into the doctor, show it to them saying, "This is me at X doses. I have X doses left. What do you think?" After just one or two doses I think they will hedge on the side of waiting to 'see how it goes'. Of course, this all depends on it continuing to get better. Because if it doesn't, he's there in a heartbeat!

So tomorrow one of his coworkers is coming to pick him up in the morning for work. He is just no match for the antihistamine and DEFINITELY shouldn't drive. We'll see how his day goes, he may be coming home early.

Maddy had big issues getting up from her naps. Her throat really hurt because of the drainage and she'd cry just drinking milk. But after a bit, she'd liven up and play some. But mainly she wanted to snuggle today. We were able to get dimeatap in her twice (once mixed in icecream and once forced).

I did just have go up and boy is she squirmy!!! She's really not tired at all and it's 9 pm. She had two naps today and one was a late one. Well, let me tell ya kid, this mom is TIRED!!!

Ok, now, I should seriously go to bed. Have a good night. Here's hoping she's not up too much or to close to 6:30 so I'll actually get out of bed to work out!

April 23, 2007

Whew, run until the end....

Well, today went fine, but man, if I'm not exhausted. I woke up with a bit of Maddy's cold (which I'm actually thankful it is over allergies). But it wasn't that bad so I worked out at 6:30. Maddy was up on and off between 8 and 11:00. I had to go up about 3 times. I was finally asleep at 11:30 and slept REALLY WELL until 6:30. So it was nice to have a good nights sleep.

After my work out and shower I didn't much care what else happened! I was thrilled I accomplished that. :) I did go grocery shopping with Maddy though and she was great in the grocery store. Especially since they've now switched around my Giant yet again while they are expanding and remodeling. There is now a Starbucks and Boston Market in my Giant. Kind of exciting! (I obviously don't get out much.) Maddy and I got home and I was dreading, DREADING carrying it all in. Normally I'll put Maddy in the living room (which is baby proof and visible from the car) while I run in and out dropping groceries off at the foyer from outside the car (I unload the trunk to the curb). But today the chinese grandma saw me putting groceries on the curb and her and her son came out and helped me carry it all to my house!!!!!! I COULDN'T SAY THANK YOU ENOUGH. Which I'm pretty sure she understood JUST fine.

Lunch came and went. Which is funny. Maddy loves carrots from canned peas and carrots mix. However, she won't eat the peas. So I bought her dimed carrots in a can but she won't have anything to do with them. It's not the shape either, since I even tried cutting them up once.

Maddy took a 2 hour nap and I changed cat litter, took around the trash cans, straightened the house, wrote and mailed a letter I've been meaning to write, emptied out Matt's car, swept, and mopped the kitchen floor. I definitely exceeded the amount of chores I originally had planned today.

Maddy and I played for a while after she got up and I made a snack for Matt and got a snack bag ready for Maddy and picked him up for his doctor's appointment. His face was worse today than yesterday so I wanted him to go in and he agreed. I got a GREAT time slot (4:30) with a doctor I like! We drove over to pick up Matt, drove him to the doctor and then Maddy and I went to Giant to pick up a couple of items I forgot. We went over to Tuesday's Child and I bought Maddy two books and a stuffed horse. Then we wandered the shopping strip. I stopped and picked up a cold bottel of water for her from one of the deli's.

Matt came out and he has POISON IVY!!! WAH? Turns out what we thought were fang marks were probably two blisters that subsided before the rest came out. So yep, there you have it! Matt did think that the reaction was much like poison ivy and thought it could possibly be it. But he couldn't explain the fang marks. He is REALLY allergic to poison ivy and we think he got it mowing/trimming the lawn for the first time. He thinks while trimming a leaf blew onto his arm and touched it for a second. That's how allergic he is. So now he's on different meds.

After we dropped off his two prescriptions (and yes, he has picked them up and took them/put them on) we let Maddy wander around a bit since she had been sitting LITERALLY for two hours WITHOUT complaint. I wanted to let her out at the shopping center but it was so close to the road I didn't feel comfortable with it.

I quick heated up the left over pasta, opened a can of pasta sauce, nuked some mesquite chicken, cut it up and threw it in the sauce and toasted our 9 grain bread from the breadmaker. That was dinner. We played on the back deck a bit and Matt ran out to get the prescriptions and I gave Maddy a bath. Now she's in bed and I'm TIRED.

I think I'll be going to bed quite soon as well. I want to get some extra rest trying to get rid of this slight bug Maddy has given me. Good night all!

Thank Goodness for MNO!!!

Good: I have Mom's night out tonight.

Bad: Maddy has diaper rash (I hope it's not poison ivy from Matt, but I doubt it. It's been really hot here and with her cold and bad diarrhea (sorry, TMI) yesterday I wouldn't be surprised if it was related.)

Good: I'm feeling much better.
This has been the easiest cold yet. Can't complain. As a matter of fact, I'm feeling pretty darn close to normal!

Bad: Maddy's nose is stuffed up again.
Poor baby just can't seem to shake this cold.

Good: Maddy took Dimeatap without giving me any grief.
I didn't think she'd make it that easy on me.

Bad: 3/4 of a sippy cup of milk leaked into the corner of our recliner.
I'm only hoping I soaked up enough to not having it smell forever. I couldn't find the cup and it was buried under the pillow in the corner.

Good: I have Mom's Night Out tonight.

Bad: Maddy found a snag in the carpet and pulled up a good 6 inches.
(Original installation did a horrible job matching up the berber seams.)

Good: I was able to use super glue and a scissors to fix it. It's not wonderful, but it will do.

Bad: Maddy's been extremely fussy today due to the diaper rash and cold. She doesn't want to do anything but doing nothing makes her fussy too. She's just out of sorts.

Good: She slept through the night last night!!!

Bad: I only got six hours sleep.

Good: Matt and I hung out until Midnight
watching TV (ask him about his Apple laptop connection to the TV with remote and bit torrent!). But I got a straight six hours of sleep.

Bad: She went down for a nap early. I try to keep her up until at least noon. Now I'm hoping Daddy won't have too hard of a time with her tonight before bed.

Good: At least she's sleeping.

Bad: I didn't work out yesterday due to being up a lot at night with Maddy (bad nightmare) and my cold.

Good: I worked out today
.

Bad: We have a bees nest under our window sill and poison ivy in our backyard.

Good: I found it while putting down dirt and mulch
and didn't get stung. So that's done!

Bad: I canceled playgroup because of Maddy's stuffy nose and another mom's kid was sick too.

Good: I DON'T have to miss Mom's night out!

Snugglepants.

Today, Maddy took a nap on my lap for the first time since she was about 7 months old. She's slept on my lap upstairs in her room in the middle of the night, but never during the day anymore. She wanted snuggles. So I grabbed her favorite blanket and pulled her up onto my lap. She snuggled on in. I sang my little song to her and rocked her back and forth. She started to suck her thumb. Next thing you know, she was out like a light! She slept for 50 minutes laying on my lap. I finally did wake her up since I wanted her to get an afternoon nap, too. But it was so nice and so sweet. She woke up in a fabulous mood and was all smile-y and giggly. Sometimes when she wakes up in different places other than her crib she kind of startles but--she really liked it today!

Normally I would go a bit stir crazy needing to sit for 50 minutes, but I enjoyed my snuggle relaxing time today. Going to bed at midnight (AGAIN) last night probably didn't hurt that I wanted a break and time to relax. Mom's Night Out was fun like it always is. Rachel makes one heck of a drink! Very good stuff! I took my coolers with me so I could give them to a mom who will take them to our Mom's group anniversary weekend trip.

Oh, I guess i haven't talked about that yet. We are going away for the weekend in May. It is the second anniversary of our mom's group so all of us moms go away for a weekend. I'm only going one night but it will be nice!!! We are renting a cabin (not that it's a cabin, it's a huge house) not too far from here. The conversation will be great, I'm sure. I'll come back exhausted on Sunday!

Oh! Maddy pants is already up! Gotta run!

WO of the day: Managed to fit in 20 minutes, even though quite tired.
Tea of the day: Matt made me coffee this morning. So nice!! I have had RoT Panda Berry Herbal tea during the day though. It's the next tea I want to use up!

Just made my mother's day present!

Hahaha... yes, I made my OWN present...ok, presents. I made four different sets of 10 greetings cards at shutterfly. Each different set has 9 pictures of Maddy on the front with a greeting on the inside. One card has 9 pictures of Maddy reaching for the camera, one card has 9 pictures of Maddy eating and the other two cards have various cute pictures that I like. I made Matt click the 'buy' button since it's not like me to spend $1.79 per card!!

I have such fun making the stationary though and shutterfly is AWESOME that way. It allowed me to crop and move each picture, gave great previews, great fonts, colors, sizes... it's a GREAT program!!! I'll need to scan them when I get them. Of course, I have fun getting them in the mail and then sending them out, too.

Ok, well, I gotta run. Matt is waiting to watch a Mythbusters with me!

Still Snugglin!

I went out with Rosanna for breakfast this morning and had a great time! Her birthday was last weekend. I was originally going to take her for lunch, but she had some construction plans this afternoon which she obviously had to be there for. So we did breakfast instead. At the end of breakfast I bought her a GC to Ihop since I meant to get there early and do it. But my alarm didn't go off--well, it did, but it was too low, so I needed to wait until after. That was probably my least well presented gift ever. She was right next to me when I bought it and I just turn around and handed it to her! Ah well, she understands. I got home around 10 and Matt and Maddy were out. They came home about 5 minutes after I did. They ran some errands while I was gone.

After a bit, Maddy snuggled down with me on the couch and next thing I knew, she was out like a light! This is the second time this week! So, Matt was tightening her crib and I told him to get the heck out of there so she could sleep! She didn't even get lunch. But she had a GREAT breakfast with Matt. She will be HUNGRY when she wakes up!

Matt sprayed some poison ivy today with the spray he bought yesterday at Lowes. I can't believe how tiny this bottle was and how little it lasted for $20. To make matters worse, I found a LOT more in the backyard. It was really low to the ground and small leaves so it almost looks like clover. But it's definitely poison ivy. So he is running to Lowes today to get more of the expensive stuff. I'm surprised now that he didn't have off worse than what he did with amount I found and how long the grass was when he mowed it the first time.

Matt's almost finished tightening Maddy's crib, but he lost an I (eye?) bolt the he needed so he's back to Lowes. Ah well, he needed to get the poison ivy killer anyway! He's also getting the expanding foam because now we found ANOTHER bees nest under a doorway that was put in a few years back. ARGH. Obviously the window people did NOT seal the framing well enough since it's been on our deck (killed and sealed last year) now under our window sill in the front by the garden and now under our back door, too. So, more Great Stuff it is!

I need to go to the grocery store today to pick up some stuff for next Mom's Weekend Out. I also told them I'd bring silverware but I will get that at BJs. Yikes, BJs always has the ability to break a budget! So I MUST BE GOOD.

Have a great weekend!

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday

Well, today was my last day as Sunday School teacher and Matt's last day as financial secretary. Starting next weekend we will be attending the other church. I'm glad the whole transfer process is over. Pastor wasn't even THERE today since he is out of town on vice-president business. Did I mention that our pastor is the vice-president of the synod? Hmm... nothing like ticking off the VP. Ah well!

Maddy was pretty good in church, albeit squirmy! I had to take her out once, but just to let her run off some energy before going back in. My Sunday School class went fine.

Matt's best man from our wedding called on our way home from church and the two of them and Jordan's girlfriend all went out for lunch. Maddy was an hour late for her nap due to church, so I got her down at 1. She slept until 3:30. Matt was able to go out and come back BEFORE she woke up. She was tired!

After she was up we all went out to BJs. BJs always ALWAYS breaks the bank! We can't get out of there without spending at LEAST $150. And that's LOW for us. Today we bought a lot of paper products, TP, Paper Towel, Paper Plates, Kleenex, diaper wipes, toothpaste, etc... (Take THAT Mother Earth!!!!) We bought Matt's mom's mother's day presents and all our mother's day cards there, too. WHEW. Our cart was FULL of big bulk items. I did buy Maddy a set of books which were SO cute. She has some puzzle piece books that are foam and I found a min set of four that I had to get. They will fit in her diaper bag much easier than the current large ones.

Matt made dinner, Maddy watched a bit of TV, I helped put stuff away. Maddy got her bath and bed (after chowing down on the carrots part of the peas and carrots) and Matt and I sat on the porch eating our dinner & wine, enjoying the weather and the planes way overhead. Now I'm about to go hang out and watch a bit of TV!

My week should be productive and fun coming up. I have a story hour tomorrow with a couple mom's from one of my mom's group in the morning. On Wednesday, I am hosting mom's group in the afternoon with the girls who are Maddy's age. On Friday my inlaws will be here and I need to pack. On Saturday I am leaving for my night overnight! I need to do a Trader Joe's run this week along with groceries, too.

Have a nice night and a good week!

Totally unprepared.

About 10 days ago I went to a playgroup with a group of other moms at a really nice park. Well, a little boy very close to Maddy's age got stung by a bee. It was the ONLY bee at the entire park (or at least it seemed like it). It landed on his face first and the mom gently brushed it away. I mean, who WOULDN'T? The bee is on this kid's FACE!!! Well, right after that it landed on his finger and stung him. Needless to say, it's still better than stinging the face, but STILL. Poor little guy was so upset but was a real trooper. You could tell it really hurt and it did swell some. All he wanted was mama snuggles. Although, I did hear he perked up at the end and wanted to play.

Well, anyway, that was when I realized that I am totally unprepared for things like that to happen. (Not that it is a good thing, but did make me feel better that the other mom didn't have anything either.) Well, today Maddy and I went to Walmart and I bought a few things for her diaper bag, my purse and the cars. I bought two ready packed emergency supply kits for our trunks. I bought two mini bandaid supply kits with wipes (one for her bag and one for my purse), some antihistamine lotion for her diaper bag, and a pack of 10 instant melting benedryl sheets. I put three of the sheets in each mini supply kit and two in each trunk supply kit. Now, the benedryl isn't for every day use. It really is for bee sting reactions and what not. But I feel good that I'm a little more stocked now.

I also stocked up on toothbrushes and toothpaste for Maddy. That girls LOVES to chew on toothbrushes. I don't mind, since it still is hard for her to let me brush her teeth so I figure that would help a bit. She's almost out of toothpaste but I need to hide that since she wants to treat it like candy! I do love that Walmart has a grocery section though because all I needed was bread, eggs, and frozen chicken breasts and they had them right there. It saved a trip to the grocery store!

Maddy and I were supposed to meet up with a couple mom's for story time at Barnes and Noble. But after Maddy did so nicely at Walmart I hated to turn around and throw her back in the car to go sit still at story time. She needed to run around an play a bit. So we wound up walking over to the park where I let her play for quite a while.

Other than that, just doing chores this afternoon. I want to get the dining room back to normal (still a storage area) so when I host playgroup for that small group of girls who are Maddy's age on Wednesday at least I have a livable main level. I also need to go to Trader Joes for soup for this next weekend. I'm getting their tomato basil which is just heavenly and will make a nice accompaniment to the ultimate grilled cheese sandwiches we are having.

WO of the day: Will work out tonight after Maddy is in bed. 30 minutes ellpitical
Tea of the day: Stash Green Chai
