MLK Jr. Day= Banks off = Matt home!

Well, since Matt does information security for a banking firm, that means he had off today! We slept in until 9 am this morning and that was just lovely. Maddy didn't have too much of an issue going to bed last night (some fussing and going up once) but by the time she was asleep it was 8:45ish. So she slept 'til 9!

It's been a VERY productive day here. Matt made his famous egg sandwich breakfast. (I don't feel too guilty for eating it since we only used egg whites mixed with egg beaters, Miracle Whip light and 100% whole wheat bread.) We unloaded the dishwasher from last night, played a bit with Maddy. I've done two loads of laundry. Matt ran out to Microcenter to pick up some computer stuff (time to hack the downstairs Tivo unit). Then he went over to Belfort and bought the headboard to our bedroom set. It also came with a footboard and side rails, but I really don't like footboards AT ALL. So we just got the headboard.

He came home, all three of us ran out to BJs for basic stuff. We bought a ton of meat, cleaning supplies, paper products, a few dry goods--things like that. I like buying meat in bulk and then freezing them in meal serving sizes. I strongly recommend buying their frozen salmon fillets. They are airlock sealed so they don't get freezer burn and are individually wrapped as well. You get a great deal on Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon as well. I also buy my diaper genie refills and BJs brand diaper wipes there since I go through them so fast. I also bought a lot of books for Maddy. I am a SUCKER for kids books. It probably comes with being a teacher, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE books for her. When she's a bit older and realizes ripping paper isn't a favorite past time we'll start going to the library more. I bought bath books, two fun "Look at me, I can be" books where you stick the paper doll into a sleeve that has the profession in front of it. I bought both the girl and boy books since I felt they were a bit sexist (a boy can be a soldier, a girl can be a nurse). I also bought a set of four board books that teach color, shapes, letters, and numbers. I bought the large hardcover "If You Give A..." four story collection as well for $20. And of course, the ever popular Dr. Suess/Berenstain Bears board books. I picked up four nice tshirts for myself and a couple other food items. We did buy the Sam Adam's Winter Pack of 24 beer bottles for $20. Can't go wrong with that price.

I also ordered my contacts from BJs and they are being delivered to my door in about a week for free. Plus I received a rebate for them as well! So I bought a full year's supply.

On the way home, we dropped off a prescription at CVS so that will be in tomorrow.

Not a whole lot going on the rest of the night. I need to fold a load of laundry (which Joe is now laying in) and then dinner when Maddy gets up from her nap. I did not work out this morning so I will work out after dinner. Matt is hacking the Tivo right now. It's back to work for him tomorrow after four days off. Then it's back to the routine for me. But I have Mom's Night Out tomorrow night with one of my mom's groups so that will be a lot of fun! It's at our local Cheesecake Factory so that will be delicious.

I did upload two cute videos of Miss Maddy this morning. Here's the link!

Tea of the day:
Ahmad English Breakfast Tea
WO of the day: Will be 30 min. elliptical with situps, stretching and pushups.

Mom/Grandma B.:

Those look like really nice books for Maddy. It's nice to get all that done in one trip.
