Matt and his dad are right now at Home depot buying shelving for our downstairs closet. They are also buying containers. We have a great closet in the family room, but haven't actually used it appropriately. I will take before and after pictures although they won't be anywhere near as impressive as Claire's!!! That looks awesome, by the way, Claire! It will be nice to get some more stuff out of the way. We need to start sorting and we need to be brutal. I don't need about 1/4 the stuff in the basement. So either we throw it out, give it away or sell it on Craigslist. It depends on what kind of shape it's in and how much use someone else can get with it.
But I'm not going to do what my dad hates either, throw out stuff that we will need one day. My mom is notorious for throwing out perfectly good blenders and then needing them six months later. (No really, she's pretty good at keeping what she needs and only getting rid of what she doesn't need.)
I better enjoy the peace now while I have it! Soon Matt will be home, Maddy will be up from her nap and it will be time to get going!
I was pretty excited to get the chili started this morning. It's nice to have someone here to preoccupy Maddy so I can crockpot prep in the morning. I'm making 16 servings so we'll have it for dinner with a 9 grain bread loaf in the breadmaker and then I'll freeze the rest for later use. It smells GREAT.
