*ahem* advent preparation

So, Pastor and our Council president came over for Advent Preperation tonight. Well, since it's after Advent (Pre-Christmas up to Christmas for all you heathens out there--don't worry, I'm joking, I'm getting to that) it turned into Epiphany Preperation (1/6 Story of the Wise Men) since it's now after Christmas. Well, all of that was a good guise for our 'Come to Jesus Meeting'--both figuratively and literally.

So yes, we got nailed tonight with not coming to church often enough. I was expecting this a while ago. It is true that we barely go anymore. It's not that we disagree with what they say. For me, honestly, it's that Maddy still naps in the morning and I hate seeing her miss her morning nap. At least I'm not a hypocrite--I don't have her miss her nap for ANYTHING (playgroup, shopping, while visiting family, anything). So at least I have consistancy on my side. So it looks like we need to go more often.

It was funny though. After they left Matt and I watched a bit of Darhma and Greg. Did you know that the actress who plays Darhma is a scientologist? I thought it was interesting that she could play a flighty, yoga, nature instructor. But then Matt mentioned that really, they are kind of alike minus the alien thing. He's got a point. Then he started to go off on what would happen if we were a scientologist and the 'pastor' (or whatever it's called in scientology) came to our house and told us we weren't going to church enough. He said, "Except if it were a scientologist they're come to 'Lisord' (Jesus) meeting would include ray guns and an alien as backup." I died laughing. After the day I had and very little sleep, it was great!

Matt said he was half tempted to yell as we closed the door, "OK, BRING BACK IN THE STRIPPERS! JUST KIDDING!" I think I would have laughed. I think Pastor would have too, honestly. But no, not to make light of the situation. We do need to go to church more often.

Alrighty, from one Heathen to another, goodnight!
