Yesh! Medication is costly!

Well, Matt made a doctor's appointment for me today to get my eye looked at. It had been red previous to my WI trip for about a week on and off. And this morning it started up all over again. I wasn't sure what was causing it but today it was worse than before.

Turns out I have a viral infection. It's full blown, 'pink eye on steroids'. It wouldn't go away without medication so I'm on eye drops 4 x a day. It's contagious (although they don't know when it's really contagious, before it shows up? during?) so I need to throw out my contacts and cases. All the usual--wear my glasses for a few weeks, keep my hands off my eyes, wash my hands frequently and don't let Maddy get anywhere NEAR my eyes. I never want to have to give her eyedrops, that would be pure pain for me and her.

Anyway, I went to pick up the meds tonight and it was $60!! And yes, that was WITH insurance with good coverage. It was $91 regularly. If it wasn't Friday night and I wouldn't be able to get ahold of the doctor until Monday, I would have waited and asked for something different and less expensive. But oh well, I need it, right?

Tonight is the first night since we got back that Maddy went to sleep the first time we laid her down. I heard a bit of a whine, but nothing that would make us go in and see her. She seems to have adjusted pretty well! She likes being home although I think she's bored already. Unfortunately, there won't be any playgroups in our future with this eye of mine. I don't want anyone else catching this.

Well, have a good weekend all!
