I meant to mention that I DID wind up pulling out my good Tea Set to have tea yesterday! It was really nice to use it, but a pain in the rear to prewash (a bit dusty) and then wash when I was finished. But it was fun to use. Here's a picture of the teapot, creamer and sugar. Here's a picture of the tea cups and coffee mugs. Matt had tea too. He pulled out his throat a couple day ago while stiffling a sneeze and turning his head at the same time. Since then, he's forgotten to let out his sneezes and has pulled it over again! So his voice is all croaky. It sounds like he has a bad cold, but doesn't.
Well, we missed both Halloween parties yesterday! We had one in our neighborhood and one for my mom's group. Maddy was due up for her afternoon nap right around the time they were both starting. However, she would go to bed, but not fall asleep. So we wound up getting her up for a bit and then laying her back down again. It still took her a while to go to sleep even then! But, she MUST have that afternoon nap otherwise she is a very crabby-Maddy at night without it!!! I've always maintained that I will not mess around with her nap schedule just to attend fun events. They are too important. I understand if we need to go to the doctor, get a flu shot, have an appointment, etc. But other than those, her naps come first!
Speaking of sleep, I bought this new medication (really an herbal supplement) called Midnight. I can take it at any hour of the night to help fall back asleep without leaving me hung over the next morning! It's not addictive and doesn't give me weird dreams the way Simply Sleep or Tylanon PM do. Plus, I've woken up in the middle of the night after taking it and I don't feel drugged up either. It's pretty awesome stuff!
Yesterday I was able to hit the mall to pick up my purse. They put a whole new strap on it even though it was just the end clasp at the end of the strap that kept coming undone. It looks really nice. Brighton's really does stand behind their product and they do good work. I really highly recommend them. Plus, their purses wear really well to. The leather is high quality and doesn't mar easily at all. My purse (besides the strap coming off now and again) looked brand new before I took it in for repairs and I'd used it virtually every day for over a year. Now it looks and acts just like new! I'm not overly careful with my purses either even though I should be. I set it on the ground, the floor of the car. It gets bumped around and thrown around. But it really has stood up to it all! I stopped in at Aveda and picked up my free trial size shampoo/conditioner set from a flyer I received in the mail. I also bought the Hand Relief Lotion that is just HEAVENLY. That was quite a splurge!
I did some grocery shopping too and went a bit crazy on the coffee creamers! I bought two more Coffee Mate Mint Mochas (one for Matt's work and one for home), a International Delight Pumpkin Pie Spice creamer and Mint Chocolate Creamer. However, Matt likes the Coffee Mate Mint better than the International Delight Mint so I guess it's worth the extra $1 more! The Pumpkin Pie Spice creamer is delicious in a cup of cinnamon tea with just a touch of splenda. Matt's mom bought us Almond Toffee creamer while she was here and it is also really good in coffee and plain black tea.
Maddy slept all night again last night! She didn't have any issues going to sleep either. However, I did hear her talk a couple times during the night. I don't know what was up with that. She cut her ring finger this morning on the plastic zip tie ends that hold up the plastic railing guard. She must have ran her hand on it JUST right to get it to do that. She started crying and I thought, "But wait, I didn't hear a thunk!" She also bit her tongue for the first time a couple days ago. Oh, she HATED that. She started shaking she was so mad and hurt.
I really am loving Daylight Savings time. I am hoping it will make it easier for me to get up at 6 to work out. I like waking up in the light anyway. Of course, that will mean no more evening walks with Daddy because by the time he gets home it will be dark out and getting colder too. Too bad, cause we love our evening walks. Now our evening walks are going to be at about 4:00!
Other than that, today is a stay home and do some chores and relax day. I baked banana walnut chocolate chip bread this morning. I have some mulled apple cider going in the crockpot now. I have a couple chores to do, but overall, not that many.
I forgot to say that I'm back in glasses again. My right eye was red right next to my iris yesterday night. Just very slightly, but I thought it would be prudent for me to wear my glasses anyway today. *sigh*
I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Tea of the day: Adagio Cinnamon Black Tea with splenda and Pumpkin Pie Spice creamer
WO of the day: None, I ate at about a 3 yesterday (too much smoked gouda and wheat thins last night!)
