I had a fabulous time at Mom's Night Out last night. It started at 6:30 and I showed up a few minutes late because of traffic. We all met up at one of the mom's houses from our group. There were quite a few of us, at least 12! We all ordered pizzas and everyone brought something along to share. I brought along a mozzarella and tomato salad, which morphed into an antipasto salad without the meat. When I went to Wegmans I bought a nice mixed olive group from their olive bar and also marinated mozzarella. So when I got home I remembered that I had roasted red bell peppers too, so I cute a few of those up and added it. I also added capers. So the end product was: fresh tomatoes marinated in olive oil, oregano, basil and rosemary, olives, roasted red peppers marinated mozzarella and capers. It was really good!
Other people brought desserts like Wegman's Ultimate Chocolate Cake, brownies, and donuts. I was actually very good with the desserts and only had a small slice of the cake. It was good, but not as good as the Peanut butter pie that Matt bought from Wegmans.
It's always fun to get together with our mom's group though. They are really nice and fun to be around. We wind up laughing so hard we are almost crying. It's amazing where our conversation leads and what kind of stuff we talk about. You wouldn't believe me if I told you! (And the mom's group would probably kill me too, if I openly blogged about it!) I told myself I'd get home at 10:30 but I wound up home at 11:30. Matt and I hung out for about a 1/2 hour watching a Dirty Jobs then off to bed. I was worried about Maddy getting up in the middle of the night. She was due up at about 7 am so I wanted to get to bed!
Well, she had pity on her mother and did NOT wake up in the middle of the night and slept through the night until 8:00 am. Of course, didn't set an alarm for this morning so I wound up having to work out and shower during her nap. I worked out without the monitor on but turned it on when I was stretching and doing my sit-ups and pushups. She was making a few noises so I hustled up the stairs and took a fast shower before I needed to go in and get her.
I need to do a few chores this afternoon before Maddy gets up and Matt gets home. Other than that, it's a pretty uneventful day. I still have yet to get through another magazine and every day a new one comes in the mail. I swear I have a stack of magazines at least a foot high that I haven't read.
Oh, another minor customer service complaint: Bank of America bought out our credit card company and now we can't access our credit card online because Matt is just a 'authorized user' not a 'co-owner'. So we can't see it on our joint Bank of America account. Now I'm on the phone with them (on hold of course listening to ads) waiting to get that straightened out. They will need to send me paperwork to fill out and send back to get this accomplished. It drives me crazy though that for years we've been able to access our CC account online without issue, but now that BOA bought them out we're having issues. Funny, since BOA is our bank and the credit card company they bought is our cc company! You'd think it would be EASIER, not harder. SHESH!
