Lazy Sunday Afternoon!

Good afternoon everyone! Wanted to pop in and say hi. Yesterday we had our open house at my parents. It went quite well. Maddy handled a house full of guests much better than I thought she would. The living room was full! She didn't want to go on a lot of laps, but if I put her there she didn't fuss really. It was an evening gathering so as not to interfer with her naps. She enjoyed seeing everyone and listening in to conversations. She sat and watched a lot, played a little and crawled around. She enjoyed my second-cousin, Tannar quite a bit. He's in 6th grade and she had a great time trying to grab his glasses, hit him, blow raspberries at him, etc. I think he enjoyed it, too!

Before the open house my cousin Tina and her husband Mike stopped over with their 1 1/2 year old, MIchael. Michael warmed up to us pretty well and Maddy liked him a lot. Maddy liked Mike too. I think she misses her daddy! I hated to cut the visit with them short, but she needed her afternoon nap before everyone got here.

Maddy really seemed to get along with everyone. They seemed to enjoy her. A good time was had by all! She even slept all night, too, which is great. I thought maybe with all the commotion that she would be too excited to sleep. But a hot bath and then bed went pretty easily.

Four months ago, I know it wouldn't have gone as well. She's really become very adaptable and capable little girl. She handles crowds well, noises better than she used to and enjoys a lot of company. She eats a large variety of foods (as long as I'm eating them too). She really enjoyed the pizza and sloppy joes we had over the last few days. She can drink water out of virtually anything (with help tipping the glass). She also loves to crawl around in the grass. I guess that's what happens when they grow up. She's such a big 10 month old!

Matt has missed out on a few new things over the last 10 days. She's starting to wave 'hi/bye' now. She's walking now holding onto my hands. Before, she HATED to hold onto my hands. She didn't understand that it would allow her to practice walking. Now she holds onto my hands and enjoys walking.

Well, that's it for now. Maddy is still down for a nap and I'm going to get a couple things done. Have a good one!
